Launch Day – Redux
Well that was a load of no fun.
If you are seeing this, you have found the new server. We had wanted to get on a new superturbochargedbadass dedicated server before trying to launch. We went to set up the machine this past weekend and found it to be broken. So our new hosting company promised us an even better server, and we said "okay, we'll try and launch on the old server."
Din't work out.
There may or may not have been a DDoS attack on our launch day, the 28th. It might just have been very excited Erfworld fans in numbers too big to handle. Whatever happened, the site crashed all day. So Harknell, who for my money is the Hardest Working Man In Webcomics (sorry Rich Stevens!), stayed up to the wee hours (weeeeee!) to move the site to the New Hostness. And here we are.
The final Summer Update (#49) is now up. The first page of Erfworld Book 2: Love is a Battlefield, will load this evening sometime. Let's all just forget this ugliness ever happened and move on, shall we? Enjoy.
