Main Comic on Hiatus, Returning June 6

Erfworld Book 2 has been on hiatus since fall 2011 due to Xin's family situation, but will be returning to regular updates on June 6.
In the meantime, I am writing and posting a full-length prequel novel, with
occasional illustrations as Xin can manage. This may will be very spotty in terms of its update schedule,
but should become more frequent as we get a handle on the motion comic and new website over the summer.

Hiatus Unintentional, Part 2 Soon – Kickstarter Keeps Building

I hate to admit how unprepared I was for the narrative jump between Part 1 and Part 2 of Inner Peace (Book 0). Near the end of Part 1, I made a decision to skip over a huge part of the story and pick up where it's far less depressing and angsty and much more exciting.

The problem is, I had a decent handle the stuff I skipped over. But the stuff I jumped to had more gray area in it than I realized. There have been some tough decisions to be made about story and character background (and even the physics of Erfworld itself) before I could start putting words on a page.

All of that has been happening while the Kickstarter was demanding most of my attention. I've been talking to the website people, the game people (they thank you for funding Warbarons!), the composers, the printers, the plushie makers, Brian the animator, Crystal the audio coordinator, Xin (about everything, including the group reward comic and special graphics), a musician who is making a secret demo song for the album, the programmer who is designing the make-your-own-Hamstard-comic applet, as well as all the people who have donated and asked questions (I am way behind on getting back to people, sorry!). It's not that it's that hard. I still love my job. But there's been a crazy amount of it, and that's likely to continue.

Creatively, I am always the author of Erfworld. But professionally, I am the owner/operator of Erfworld, and sometimes the one conflicts with the other. I am always trying to do my best. I know the vast majority of readers understand that, and the support you've been showing has really helped keep me from tearing my hair out. Year of the Dwagon is close to becoming the third most funded Comics project in Kickstarter history!

I feel like I can begin to write Part 2 now. So expect a new episode by midweek. Xin is doing a lot better these days, and has really done a lot that you haven't even seen yet. Things are good! I just need about five more of myself and we can get everything under control. Thanks, everybody.
