Why Can't Stanley See Names?

She did know it. She told Parson and he called Jack and addressed him by it.

But it's quite certain that Stanley, at least can't see names. Remember his little ploy with Zhoppa.

So perhaps there's more than one level of the See Stats ability. And Parson's glasses have Greater See Stats.

Only Wanda knew it. And to our knowledge she never told Parson Jack's last name.

I'm thinking Parson could have solved the problem by looking with his glasses, and just didn't know it, as nobody did.

To add some raw facts to this discussion, check the battle of the pass in book 1. As soon as Maggie tells Stanley Jack's name, Stanley can see Jack's stats in a floating, translucent HUD panel.

Oh boop I read that wrong - it was Parson who saw the floating stats on page 108 of book 1. My bad. Lol

Actually Maggie said she never learned Jack's name back in book 1 (http://www.erfworld.com/book-1-archive/?px=%2F092.jpg), Parson could only tell his name was Jack due to the glasses.

It goes like this :
1. Stanley says he doesn't remember Jack's name (and can't use it despite needing it so we know he can't see it, and since it doesn't surprise the others it's normal)
2. Maggie says she never learned his name
3. Wanda recovers enough to speak to Parson and tell him he's called "Jack", which allows Maggie to send a thinkagram to him
4. Through the connection, Parson manages to see his full name, "Jack Snipe"
