turn-based writing whoopsy

Tonight we begin the first beta test of a turn-based strategy game I have been preparing for five solid months.

The description "turn-based strategy" is exclusively used in reference to computer games. Tabletop games are usually just called "wargames", and are always assumed to be turn-based; how would a tabletop RTS work?

Also, a tabletop game gets "playtested" rather than "beta tested", and Parson would probably know that too.

Just picking a couple of nits...

Unfortunately, no matter how nitpicky and nerdy we might be, Parson will always be expected to be nerdier.

why can't parson be involved with both? the funny thing about language is that your supposed to get your meaning across as concisely as you can. it is a turnbased strategy, and beta testing is more specific than playtesting. that implies he's already tested it at an alpha stage for the purpose of trying to find loopholes before the players were involved.

this seems like a very minor complaint

What about a deliberate language choice on the part of Parson/Rob?

pickypicky! I don't see how it matters! Maybe sometimes he and his friends have free for all games of some sort o_O Maybe.... just maybe... they are LARPERS!! And they Larp with strategy! Although parson doesn't look like he gets that much exercise.

He probably just needed to tighten up the graphics on level 3.
Sounds like more then one term was referring to computer games rather than table-top games. So it's possible it was intentional, or accidental.

It could be that he's told them little or nothing about the game: even if they see the table, he's only just then letting them know the type of game he's about to explain.
They could not possibly win. Every man knew this with certainty, and lo it was glorious.
