I'm talking about a manga called "Liar Game." The plot centers around a series of games where each player is loaned $1 million at the start of the game, and the winner takes the loser's money. The games are usually part mathematical strategy, part psychology, part manipulation.

The series has a lot of what I like about Erfworld -- opposing, evenly matched intelligences trying to outwit, outplay and outguess each other in games of skill. Akiyama (one of the main characters) has talents comparable to Parson's.
