That's a good explanation. Although the city of GK hasn't moved (but it has been upgraded), there's nothing to suggest that the portals have to stay in one spot.

In fact, maybe the portals move in relation to how powerful a side is? So when GK was on its last legs, the portal drifted out to the boundary of Portal Park, near the treeline. Now they are a super power, they appear to be more or less in the middle...

(EDIT: Unless of course you actually look at the comic, whereupon you will see the portal is still quite near the treeline.)

Also strike the second instance of the Allseeing eye, it's the omega in a triangle that she was wearing in the text update.

Ooh, I just thought of something. The thin layer over the entrance to the tunnel isn't just for show. If any of the casters wandering about walk over it, it will support them. But the moment a heavy unit steps on it, they'll break through!

Now you're thinking with specials!

Dear god what kind of mancer could Manhattan be? I'd say retconjuration but there are no such mancers i believe... Changamancy perhaps? possibly predictamancy...

Nice spot on the Zatanna! I think it's her, also. Plus: George Harrison from Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (although, presumably better suited as a -mancer in role from Magical Mystery Tour?)

Fossils??? Evidence of Erfworld evolution???? No no no.. The fossils were just placed there by the Titans to test our faith. Only in this world that might actually be true.

A) scream aborted.

B) I thought this was clever, so I showed it to my wife. She did not get it at all.

No... they were placed there for the benefit of croakamancers, or possibly spookamancers.

Last frame: what is the object buried in the earth directly under GK's portal which looks a bit like a Bauhaus-era fountain pen pointing straight up?

That I think is unknown at this time. Some sort of portal-power or support thingy. I wonder if Parson is going to notice it as he goes through the "subway?"
"Do it?" Dan, I'm not a Republic serial villain. Do you seriously think I'd explain my master-stroke if there remained the slightest chance of you affecting its outcome?

I did it thirty-five minutes ago.

Ha! I KNEW it!

The fourth known arkentool is the thing that supports the portal system for the magic kingdom! I mean, allowing for instantaneous travel and bypassing move, turn and hex restrictions? That's TOTALLY 'tool level power, that is!

Technically whatever that is (assuming it used to be living), it should have de-popped. So unless its a piece of raiment, or a corpse that was turned into an item (like the cloth golem rug and mounted gwiffon head in Paron's quarters) its just flavour.

Maybe not the portal system specifically, but have we already speculated on the MK already owning the 4th tool? It could explain a lot of the rule exceptions we see in the MK.

Sizemore is making a pretty elaborate tunnel... I hope he doesn't spend too much juice between Gobwin Knob and Spacerock. I can picture Parson and Sizemore entering Spacerock and Parson saying, "Okay, now lets get some crap golems!" "Uhh, I'm out of juice...I spent it all on that three-lane-tunnel with a mini bar, Lord Hamster..."

Or, imagine if no one notices the tunnel - Parson could use it again and again. Perhaps as a meeting place for casters from enemy sides? I was picturing a dirt tunnel, but that's a pretty snazzy looking secret passage. I'm just rambling. But yeah. One step closer to seeing Parson enter the Magic Kingdom!!

Still, normaly stuff unpop a short while after being croaked, does it mean being buried preserve the body? Could fossil be uncroaked/ decrypted? Could Misty?
3 Naughtymancers of different disciplines walk into a bar... wait, forget what I just said. A shockmancer and a croakamancer walk into a bar.

ExDeath being escorted by Lulu and Celes in panel 3 made me laugh, there must be something sexy under that helmet.

Great update, I was wondering how exactly Sizemore would be able to make a 500 yard tunnel covertly. And Marie is pretty sneaky giving him cover like that.

This is the first time we've actually seen Sizemore tunnel. For some reason I had imagined there would be...dirt. And a hole. And he'd be inside it. But obviously, he's cleverer about this stuff than I am.
It appears that the support beams and props are all timber.... Is that a side effect of tunnel magic, that the Dirtamancer creates some wood in the process? Or am I being misled by magically straight stone columns?

Edit: And I just noticed, there are lights down there! How does that work?

Is that elaborate tunnel structre with braces and stuff being made by sizemore as he passes? I guess that might be why he is walkling slow.
I would be a procrastinator, but I keep putting it off.
