So casting that spell on a non-allied unit would've been an engagement, and Jojo gave it up because he couldn't have cast it now.

Doesn't say much, since dismissal/dispel spells do work that way in some games, and aggression might be measured against a side's benefit rather than a unit's.

Nice update! They don't seem to be in too big of a hurry to exit the magic kingdom, but it looks like Maggie's friends have things pretty well under control up top regardless. Not much happened, yet so much happened. Awesome.

In fairness, there's no way that it would ever have been exactly sensible for Parson to have dropped his defences for an unknown caster simply because they asked him to. No verification of any kind on the spell, etc.

I subscribe to this. For some reason I find Marie to be really sinister. Which is really, really dichotomous. She's supposed to be this la-dee-da Predictamancer from a bubble philosopher/caster side, but she's pretty intense for all of that. And don't forget that Marie convinced Janis to get the Perfect Warlord spell together. She's a pretty impressive puppetmaster. Kinda like Ann from Sword of Truth. Looks sweet and innocent, kindof a -boop-. And locks people up for 700 years for being born (ironically enough) that series's version of a Predictamancer.

Quean Bea of Unaroyal, on learning about Decryption, sent all of her troops out of cities and then killed herself. Without an heir, (her daughter was killed and Decrypted,) everyone but the casters (such as Jojo or Vanna) were disbanded. That way Godwin Knob didn't get more troops via Decryption. (If the troops had been in the city when it fell they wouldn't disband. Don't know why.) Go back to the summer updates. It's a good read.

This. When did Parson pick up the idiot ball? I mean... pick up the spell to check it later? Sure. But not sure if it he was going to let Jojo cast the spell there and then is in no way sensible.

I think Marie is the "dumb one" here, for being %100 sure that jojo wasn't being honest, while Parson was the one with doubts to even his knowledge and tried to understand what's going on.

Unaroyal as a side ended when their Queen committed suicide while her capital city was under siege by Wanda and Ansom.

She ordered her best troops to bum rush the GK lines in order to take down the Decrypted Unaroyal Princess they'd picked up, then ordered the rest of Unaroyal's troops out of the city and jumped into the Magic Kingdom portal. Because the last living Royal died, Unaroyal ceased to exist as a side and all troops in the field (that is, all of them) disbanded automatically.

She ordered her Casters, a Turnamancer (probably the one Jillian had) and a Carnymancer (now revealed to be Jojo) into the Magic Kingdom under orders to only serve Royal sides.



(Note that troops inside a city when a Side falls "freeze" instead of disbanding; they freeze in time and can't take turns until the city is captured again. This is why she ordered them into the field, to deny Wanda the Unaroyal troops for Decryption.)

I dunno. Marie could be completely justified in that assumption; we don't know a whole lot about Carnymancy or Carnymancers, but what we do know (based on real-world knowledge of carnies, and a couple other bits) implies that trusting one who isn't Obedient to you any farther than you can throw him is probably a bad idea.
