yes that's my point. having pictures of a buffalo with wings is irony when referring to buffalo wings as they aren't actually the wings of a buffalo

especially if you have the graphic of a buffalo with wings backing up an otherwise chicken based dish.

I always tought that it was Buffalo in the sense of the city like wings cooked like they do in Buffalo...

Yes, Buffalo is an American city where the wings originated. However, one can still use the term "Buffalo wings" ironically becuase the dish is neither buffalo nor often even a wing.
