Don't forget, Dagnabit needs just 1 more win to get to Level 3. As usual, Bugger'al Axe Dwarves are considered the same as Foddermen, throw them at an enemy to soften them up. Dieing on the offensive is a glorious thing and all. The siege tank is a shell cracker, and a ranged one to boot. Plus it can stick around and keep laying down fire even when taking damage thanks to its high hits. The champions will always be in the stack Dagnabit is in. That's just how they roll.

Now, I don't believe in stamping my foot to get my way, so it looks like we'll be targetting the Chief Warlord. Ok, but please, to ease my conscience, can somebody explain why this is better than the Team Spotter/Team Bruiser and Punching Bags A and B plan sketched on the previous page?

Remember, that plan gives us a chance to wipe out the Commander stack entirely, and the casualties will be quite small (as in, even NONE, depending on how we arrange round 2).

Also, hopefully Dagnabbit will not be the only one to get XPs. With some careful management of strikes, this is gonna be bountiful.

PS: for instance, Dagnabbit and Champions could either attack the remnants of the Commandew stack or the Gobwin stack (after Teams Spotter, Bruiser and Punching Bags have done their attacks), and will receive 1XP.
The whole point of this is lost if you keep it a secret.

“Well I’m rather partial to your plan Graf, just waiting for you to modify it, as chances are Lokarat won’t survive Team Bruiser’s assault eh wot!”

Duke Kettwey thinks

"Oh and I'd rather lead an aerial assault on the gobwins first to ensure, no commanders risk themselves hitting them. Also is anyone jolly concerned those fire dwagons could assassinate strike any of us?"

All right, new assignment.

Team Valiant
1 Dwaconian

Team Spotter
1 Steam Fly
Graf Zeppellin

Team Punching Bag A
1 Twain
1 Golmon Knight

Team Bruiser
1 Elephant
1 Huwwicane
1 Siege Tank
5 Minotaurs
Prince Lokarat

(Other teams to be defined for round 2).

First round of attacks-

Team Spotter attacks Gobwins.

Team Valiant attacks Commandew stack.

Team Punching Bag A attacks Gowem stack.

Team Bruiser attacks Commandew stack.

(None of our attacks will target fire).

After this, we should not incur casualties. Clap your hands if you believe, but better check the math if you don't. Even if the Commandew stack focuses all power on Lokarat, they'll be only doing 12 damage (vs. Bruiser's average defense) by now. Meaning, divided by 4, gives 3. So, worst case, Lokarat has 1HP left. Who cares, when we end turn not only does everything auto-heal, but will also be in the safety of the starting position.

Moreover, Lokarat will have gained 1XP, and stands some chance to obliterate the Commandew stack entirely. The Gowem will be croaked for sure, and there's a good chance that the first Twoll will be, too.

In fact, I hope the stack survives Lokarat's attack, as it will allow us more XP.

Now, on to round 2. Remaining troops are pretty much as last time, except now we have two Golmon Knights to spare.

And the special assignment for round 2 is- get each of the following commanders one XP, as credit for their troops' participation in Bruiser: High King Peter, King Edmund, General Dagnabit, Duke Kettwey; would be nice for Dwarkvir to get that XP too, as credit for the Valiant Dwaconian.

"Jolly good plan, except I don't see what Team Spotter achieves... would you consider using my suggested Ranged hit and run stack instead? Surely getting you the XP to level is more useful?"

No. Hit and run will not reduce special bonus. (As in, will not reduce retaliation damage, alas).

And sacrificing one XP is bloody annoying, but a small thing, in the end. It won't be Graf leading the battles.

I mean it when I say we'll be kevelling Peter and Edmund.

I approve the use of my forces in your plan, chief warlord. Let's run phase 1 and see which enemy units survive, so we can maximize leveling potential for the remaining warlords.

I will probably log out before other players weigh in, but hopefully by the time I get back the rest will give an opinion.

I'm doing nothing without Azgrut and Kriss* saying yes, seeing as how Lokarat's on the line (but not at risk, in this version) and Team Bruiser is pretty much team Nawnia. For which I will do my best to get the Nawnian leaders XPs in round 2. Not only because it's proper, but also because they are the highest HP and Def leaders we have.

*: oh wait I'm an idiot. Nawnia's yours, Twoy. Kriss is Meh.

"Well then I'll jolly well stay and fight the Gobwins then assuming Delacroix would let the Viper take the hits, no units cwoaked, I gain an XP which will be useful as our only flying ranged commander, and if I'm lucky they'll only be 2 gobwins in that stack left. Then that free you Graf old chap to gain XP in the second wave."

Zep should attack before Bruiser. The CW bonus of his is essential.

But I'm not entirely following the plan. Who do you suggest should attack who, first?

Lokarat dons his armour and readies his bow. He breaks stack with his knights, telling them that glory will have to come for them later this battle. Mounted on his warhorse he moves to the commanding warlord and reports for duty.

"I am in for the plan. Leading units not mine has always been a challange and thus I will take the challenge this time. Lets give that titans puked out side of Stanley the Cestoda something to be really afraid for."

Q: Lt_Dave is it possible for a ranged high move stack to choose whether to stay and take the hits or run after it's seen how much damage has been dealt?
A: Yes. A Ranged stack may choose to move or stay after inflicting hits.

Ok then. The best thing to do would be to wait for Ehbobo to weigh in on the plan (as a Dwaconian are involved), but Ehbobo did mention having less online time these days. So this once I'll skip ahead.

Crovius, I assume you are ok with placing the Siege Tank in Team Bruiser, under Lokarat's command. I assume this because the oldest versions of the plan also included using the Siege Tank for a max-punch stack that did not include Dagnabit, as far as I can recall now.

So, and apologize for the multipost (4 Battles here!), let's begin ROUND 1.

The Contenders, on the MCC side: Team Valiant (1 Dwaconian), Team Spotter (1 Steam Fly, Graf Zeppellin), Team Bruiser (1 Elephant, 1 Huwwicane, 1 Siege Tank, 5 Minotaurs, Prince Lokarat) and Team Punching Bag A (1 Twain, 1 Golmon Knight).

On the Gobwin Bump side: Team Gobwin (8 Gobwins), Team Cliff-Face (1 Gowem, 2 Field Twolls), Team Leader (1 Gowem, 2 Field Twolls, Commandew Twevow).

Let the battle begin!

Team Spotter does a ranged attack on Team Gobwin, remaining in the hex.

Team Spotter has a total attack of 9, and a Defence sum of 6 for 2 units. Its Leadership bonus is 1.4 (1.3 + 0.1 from Chief Warlord bonus).

Team Gobwin has a total attack of 32 and Defence sum of 24 for 8 units, sitting in a fortified position for 2 terrain bonus. Its leadership bonus is 1.1 (from Chief Warlord).

Spotter does 4 ranged damage, croaking a Gobwin.

Team Gobwin retaliates, now with 28 Attack sum, 21 Defence sum for 7 units.

Team Gobwin does 15 Damage on Steam Fly.

Team Valiant attacks Team Leader.

Oops forgot to mention the seed. Previous seed was 3440 (for both parts of the battle. I just replaced the Gobwin numbers with those for 7 units).

New random seed is 3957.

Team Valiant has 15 Attack, 5 Defense for 1 unit, with 1.1 Leadership bonus from CW.

Team Leader has 44 Attack sum, 18 Defense for 4 units sitting in a fortified position for 2 terrain bonus, with 1.3 Leadership bonus from CW.

Infantry combat:

Vaiant inflicts 3 Damage on Gowem.

Team Leader inflicts 13 Damage on Dwaconian.

Team Punching Bag A attacks Team Cliff Face.

Previous random seed was 4449.

Punching Bag A has 9 Attack, 6 defense sum for 2 units, with 1.1 Leadership bonus from Chief Warlord.

Cliff-Face has 40 Attack, 15 Defense for 3 units in fortified bonus 2 position, with 1.1 Leadership from Chief Warlord.

Punching Bag A inflicts 1 Damage.

Cliff-Face inflicts 16 Damage.

And now Ladies and Gentlemen, the moment you've all been waiting for-

Bruuuuiseeeer attaaaacks Leaderrrrr!

Previous random seed was 4933.

Bruiser has 220 Attack sum (this value does NOT include Lokarat, as he's not among the first 8 units), 41 defense sum for 9 units with 1.6 leadership bonus (Lokarat level5, plus Chief Warlord).

Leader has stats as before, except for the fact that its special bonus is now 0.5.

Bruiser inflicts 56 Damage.

Leader inflicts 12 Damage. Which I assume was fiercely targeted at Lokarat, resulting in 3 damage to Lokarat. He survives and will auto-heal at our end turn.

Round 1 results.

No MCC casualties.

Lokarat gains 1 XP.

1 Gobwin croaked in Team Gobwin, another with 2 hits remaining. Team Gobwin now has 0.5 special bonus.

Gowem in Team Cliff-Face has 29 hits left. Team Cliff-Face has 0.5 special bonus.

Gowem and 1 Field Twoll croaked in Team Leader, with the other Field Twoll having 1 hit left. Team Leader has 0.25 special bonus.

The field is yours now ladies and gentlemen, Do as you will, for ROUND 2.

The only advice I can think of is to avoid overkill. For instance, Team Leader now is 1 Twoll and 1 Commandew, doing 9 damage ... multiplied by a 0.25 special "bonus". Rather than kill this stack in one go, you could maybe milk it for two, so that you get 2XPs out of it.

Euphoric Lokarat returns to the hex. He yells battlecries like, "For the Kahn! For the Titans!" His syncronized Minotaur pincer assault combined with the rollover tactic with the steamtank resulted in massive casualties by the Gobwin Know Leader stack.

"Glorious battle this was. My respects to teh warlord who invented the plan."

Duke Kettwey, leads the Copperhead ACU, and Battle Hawk on a ranged flanking assault on Team Gobwin (flying over the river to attack from B9)

Duke Kettwey stack has 20 attack, av defence of 2 over 3 units, and a leadership bonus of 1.4 (thanks to the Chief Warlord).

Gobwin stack has 28 Attack av defence of 3 over 7 units, and a leadership bonus of 1.1 (thanks to the Chief Warlord).

Duke Kettwey Stack deals 15 damage from range, cwoaking 5 Gobwins, and leaving one uninjured and one on 2 hits.

The remaining Gobwins does 2 damage back to the Copperhead ACU.

Duke Kettwey gains 1XP, and the whole stack flies triumphantly back to the base cap.

Remaining Gobwins now fight back at 0.25%.

EDIT: Corrected as was using wrong Battle Hawk stats.
