Yeah, the benefits of being an elf are fairly obvious, though dwarves have a few clear advantages as well (just think of all the drinking games). And Lothmar, you're of course right, but a lot of things are at least a little bit subject of upbringing. If you're a human and you lived under a rock for 20 years then you probably won't have the typical human versatility, etc. It's totally a GM call to decide if we're just (un)naturally adept with those weapons, etc. On the other hand, the whole meditation thing is a lot more bizarre. As far as I remember young elves were trained to do it, so I wonder how messy/confusing trying to sleep may turn out to be...
