Numma Three, finally killing the enemy mage, now precise shots the Champion.

The champion will have 1 hit left after the 2 of our precise shots. I'm not sure if anyone else can get through 6 DEF.

Edit: I'll upgrade combat for my level.

Keep guarding Rider, strike at nearest enemy. (Although, I'm thinking a more in-char option would be to Berserk at nearest enemy, seeing as how another bro, Francoise, is gone; OTOH, I'm thinking of offering a truce and a complimentary beer to the Kri'tik with the croaking blow :P )

Not just the croaking blow...look back he did ALL the damage. He's owed SEVERAL beers :P

P.S. Francoise is buying ..if someone can just croak the b....ermm... Kir'tik

Warning, I'm gone for the weekend and won't log in. Orders for both turns, in case Ian Marius Stanley survives, are

- guard Rider, and strike at nearest enemy for as long as Rider still lives.
- (if Rider is croaked) guard Derek, and strike at nearest enemy; hopefully Derek will also guard and we the last bro badiers may keep a line going for just enough time to allow our Archers and Caster to weaken the enemy
- if Derek's also fallen, guard Tim, or the closest Archer.
The whole point of this is lost if you keep it a secret.

OOC: I got a 50% chance of doing at least one hit of damage on him with normal Strike, and while Berserk may be certain to croak him I feel it's too risky.

Oh man, Ian, you said it. French bro just got his boop handed to him. Strike W and see how that tool feels when he's got no Champion to take the hits for him.

Pretty sure that guy croaked.

If orders are to withdraw, then we'd best GTFO. Numma Trois will retreat as ordered.

(OOC It's debatable whether the fight is winnable. Yes the champion will drop but they are in much better shape than us... especially the back row. Tim has too many choices for healing. The mere fact that it is not a foregone conclusion is solely due to their archers not firing last turn. BTW LTDave I personally had a blast. I didn't know how much fun (and theraputic) playing Francoise would be. My one regret is that he didn't survive to lambast Tim for not " 'ealing" but I'm well over that. /OOC )

I would have, actually, but I don't have Precise Blow, Fire might ping, and Mighty Blow would be suicidal.

Their archers fired both of the last two rounds, actually- targeting the objective that we were supposed to be protecting, the plebs who were transporting loot out of the building. We can expect to take fire this turn if we stay.

If possible, I'm going to precise blow Champion W for the croak, and retreat per orders. If it's not possible to strike and retreat, I'll just retreat.

Guard Ian as we retreat. If I can strike anyone, I suppose I will just in case I can land a hit.

Sorry for the delay - this weekend is probably the busiest for my organisation in Australia.

I'll get started on battle space 3, but I'm wondering if there are any crazy, I mean, generous and excitable individuals out there who would be interested in taking on the GM role for this game? If not, fine. If yes, I'm keen to start another game of a different kind.

Any volunteers?

Yes, I will follow the commander and retreat. I will get a precise blow off on either the champion or the severely wounded archer if possible for some extra exp.

Well, that was a close shave. A few more phases and we might have lost the whole stack.

This position is called "Dwagon's Cleft". It's a great defensive position. Stand here and hold this bridge. Plebs are moving valuable artifacts up the path to the Fort. Protect them as best you can.

I've found some clones to fill up your stack. Also, there are some potions in this box - six, in fact. Each potion will have the same effect as a heal wounds spell.

Good luck!

22 hours to get yourselves organised, change names, etc.
Let me know if I've missed anything.
BTW - the bridge is only wide enough for one character at a time.

I have a couple questions. First, is that path leading in from the left a second source of potential enemies or do I have nothing to do until MarbitChow croaks and I need to replace him on the bridge?

Second, about those potions you mentioned, how are they applied? (Are they drunk, inhaled, injected into our veins, applied directly to forehead/skin, or pumped into the rectum like an enema?) Do they require a phase of a character's actions to be sacrificed in order for them to be used? If so, does it have to be the character that is receiving the healing do the sacrificing or could it by administered by someone else? (I want to know if I could have my character go around 'adminstering' this potion to others during the phases in which I'm not fighting.)

My character's new name is Cross (Short for crossings, another game playable on a checkerboard.) My abilites this time around are going to be parry and either precise blow or guard depending on the answer to my questions.

I have some concern that as things stand, our ranged troops will get no defensive bonus for being in a rear rank but those of the approaching enemies likely will. Unless there is some tangible bonus to having no friendlies between us and the enemy, all our squishies need to relocate so that we're directly behind the bridge and safely shielded from enemy fire by our melee forces. If our healer could top off the injured people that wouldn't hurt, either.

Conversely, since our nominal objective here is to protect the plebs, maybe we could also shift some of our more armored units up the path toward the fort where they'll provide them with at least a bit of protection from enemy fire. Being able to Guard the plebs on the path could vastly increase their longevity.

Fair point on the plebs.

About the bridge, it looks like three units could lie adjacent to, and thus be in melee range of, a bridge end, so we could have both Warriors there, and the bro badiers behind, offering support and striking at whoever steps on that bridge location. Is this true? Are three spots in melee range of a bridge end?
The whole point of this is lost if you keep it a secret.
