This is a participation game. Anyone can post what they want to happen / what they want the Marbit to do. I'll make decisions as we tell the story together.

M5! He kicks the Gobwin. If it's dead he loots the chest.

M5 sounds like a nice name! so does "Monk"... I think there was a great hero with that name?

Kick that goblin corpse! Serves it right, laying face down in water. Then read the sign and check the chest!

Monk Fyv (pending other suggestions) kicks the Gobwin corpse lying on its side.

Good Job!

As your foot crushes in his skull, a small blue gem flies out of the creature's jaws and rolls across the cave floor...

Monk Fyv examines the sign.



Very fancy writing for such a simple sign. Whatever could it mean? Maybe it says "Please don't kick the corpses?"




The Chest has a hefty looking lock. Monk Fyv tries to loot it anyway, but fails. Sad Face.



What now?

Take the gem!

Then attempt to spontaneously combust (perhaps Marbits burn with a lovely orange color to light the cave?)

Check the goblin for a key or other loot.

Monk Fyv closes his eyes and concentrates really hard.



Nope. No spontaneous combustion. Maybe Monk Fyv should try planned combustion?



Monk Fyv picks up the gem, and puts it in his pocket. As he does so, he notices that his pocket also contains a piece of twine, about the length of his arm.

A thorough search of the gobwin reveals nothing of interest or use, though from that location he notices that the cave extends around behind the sign - there seems to be a passage back there...

What now?

Check the door

TUrn the twine into a Sling

[LTDave]

The door is solidly shut, and seems to be barred from the inside. Knocking gains no response.
There is no key hole or doorknob - just a metal plate with some delicate script.




The sling is a great idea, but Fyv has no broken arm to secure... oh, a sling! right.

What now?

No choice but to venture into the cave

Fill up your inventory with rocks for slining first.

Then search the Marbit on the ground.

Test your accuracy by hitting the blade embedded in the cieling.

A thorough search of Monk Fyv's pockets reveals nothing - just the gem and the rocks he has collected.



Monk Fyv swings the sling and sends a rock shooting towards the roof.
