Start of turn 1 status
You have 48 hours to post turn 1 actions. Note that if you have more than 1000 wood, 1000 scrap or 50 mutagen at the end of this turn and haven't built enough storage areas, you will loose the excess. Actions up to turn 5 can be done retroactively, after turn 5, you can only perform retroactive turns on the turn immediately after it.

Current estimates of the wild batopod population are 2,000 specimens.

On your way out of the laboratory you managed to snatch a progenitor. Each of you has a specimen containing two pure genes. Hopefully you can figure out how to make use of this.

Doctor Ian Malcomb settled near a flowing stream, having run himself out to get away from where he'd grabbed the crab-like creature. His hand rested lightly on the shell of the creature as he caught his breath. Talking half to himself and half to the crablike creature, he said, "Those fools don't know what they have on their hands in the central research center of this island. I do think that I shall show them, my friend." He pauses and looks closer at the shellfish he had carried half-way across the island. "I suppose you need a moniker of some kind. Things may get awkward later, otherwise. Perhaps I shall call you 'Ketam.' Would that please you?"

The crab clacks its claws loudly. "I will take that as a yes," the Doctor smiles down at the creature.

Stretching and looking out at the wilderness, Doctor Malcomb sighs. "I suppose it is time to get to work. We'll need to get some supplies if we're going to start." He then leads Ketam into the wilderness to gather resources.

Spoiler: show
Dr IM: Gather Fungiwood from Forest B.
Ketam: Gather Scrap Metal from Scrap Pile B.

The weapons fire really wasn't necessary for the send off from the lab, but it did inspire Marienne to go quite a ways away from the lab before finally settling down and giving her little adopted Batopod a proper look. It really was a cute little thing, with a cute little face almost hidden among all those sharp quills. She picks her Batopod up and twirls around with it, "Looky, we made it out." she tells the little critter. "Your adoption papers didn't have a name, so I guess I get to name you." She stares at the Batopod, as it stares back at her, looking curious. "Spike! No, that's so cliche.... how about... Oh! Hera! Yeah, do you like Hera? Though... I guess I don't know if you're a boy or girl." she gives a little shrug and sets Hera back down on the ground "Oh well, you can tell your friends your name is Spike if you're a boy, but you'll always be Hera to me."

Marienne looks around to figure out where she ended up. It's a nice clearing with some water not too far away, a good enough place to set up camp. "I suppose we should get some camping supplies, shouldn't we Hera? I wonder if those lab people would mind sharing some with us? No? Yeah, they didn't even have a gift shop, so I guess not. Oh well, time to find some for ourselves."

"Aren't you just the cutesest widdle fing."
Stefan attempts to pat the freakish-mutant-thing, but it hops out of reach.
"Swine of a herb-rat! Do what I want or we'll both be stranded here for the rest of our lives."
Stefan scratches his chin and yawns.
"A plan, that's what we needs. A plan."

Turn 2
--------------------
"Oooo, we got some stuff, now we need some things!" Marienne says to Hera gleefully. "Go get me some things Hera, and I'll make somewhere nice for us to stay. And by us, I mean you. And by you, I mean the army I'm going to make with you. Go on now, momma will miss you, so stay safe." With Hera waddling off to collect 'things', Marienne turns to the task at hand: Making tools so she can make places.

Mad Malcolm laughed maniacally for quite a bit, the creature he'd stolen just staring at him oddly. He finally stopped, looking about the hilltop he'd stopped at. "Now, you will be called Dexter. Go, collect some resources for me!" It heads off in a random direction to gather resources while Mad Malcolm heads to a spot to gather as well.

Looking down at the resources he and Ketam had gathered, a slow smile slides across Dr Ian Malcomb's face. "Yes. Yes, this will do nicely." Glancing up at Ketam, he adds, "I suppose those claws wouldn't be particularly effective at dextrous work, would they. No? Well, then how about you gather me more of this," he gestures to some of the material on the ground, "while I get to work building." The doctor rolls up the sleeves of his lab coat and starts manipulating the materials into the form he envisions while he trusts Ketam to do his duty.

Spoiler: show
Dr IM: Build a Basic Work Area (using 10 F & 10 S)
Ketam: Gather Fungiwood from Fungiwood Forest B
Remaining Materials: 90 F, 15 S (after build, before gather)

Stefan coughs, spits, and scratches. "There is nothing like a job well done."
He then puts on his sing-song voice and imagines Rabbit is speaking to him. "And that was nothing like a job well done. Look at these shoes, I've only had them two weeks..."

Stefan will go hunting for Batopods.
Rabbit will go looking for food at food source A.

Turn 3
-------------------
Marienne scoops up Hera and twirls her around when she returns. "Looky looky, we made something! Oooo, and you brought things just like I wanted, you're such a good girl! Now we need to find you a little friend to play with. And by friend, I mean mate. And by play with, I mean start breeding an army. And by army... well, no, that's about right really. Now why don't we see if we can find you that friend.... mate." With that she sets Hera down and goes off in search of eligible bachelor batopods, Hera bouncing along after her happily.

Spoiler: show
Going to look for more batopods. If possible, will have Hera mate with them immediately. If it isn't possible, then I'll send her off to gather some more fungiwood from forest B.

"Heerrraaaa! Look who I found for you!" Marienne calls to Hera when she returns from her mission. She puts her newly found Batopod in front of Hera as the two look and sniff at each other before the new Batopod begins dancing around Hera. "He'll need a name too I think. Let's go with..... Randy." she finishes with a snicker "That should be fine for him, don't you think Hera?"

Marienne watches them for a bit to make sure they don't start attacking each other or anything, then leaves them to their own devices, leaving with a "Now try and make some little Batopods."

Spoiler: show
Marienne will build a workbench while Hera and Randy get on making little Batopods if that's possible (there seemed to be an indication that the workbench was required, but I'm not sure if that's right because it seems weird. If they can't because of no workbench, then I suppose I'll have them go and gather scrap from pile A
