Hey guys and gals. Anyone know of a good programs for making your own hex map world? I've been thinking it would be fun to map out a d&d campaign on a hex map. Hoping you can help. Thanks.

It's not a hex map editor as such, but GIMP 2.8 can generate a blank hex map. Search Google for hex map icons to import, and you can make some simple old-school maps. A lot of maps are made using Photoshop, and GIMP is a great free alternative.

I tend to do my maps by hand, but there's always www.hexographer.com which is pretty great.
