Store registration page isn't secure HTTP

I went to create an account for myself on the store site, so I filled out the form. When I got to the "set your username and password" part of the form, though, I reflexively checked the URL for the page to make sure it was Secure HTTP (i.e. an https: address), and saw to my surprise it was not.

Is there a secure way to create an account in the Erfworld store? Or am I really at the mercy of the big bad internet and have to create my account and set my password "in the clear"?
