Heck I am glad for the little mini story updates. They could have just as easily said, "see you all in the fall" and had done with it. This way though we get some nice little filler to put the next book in context

Nice. I really liked the detail in this update, and the picture was good too. Do you suppose Stanley's gonna set up a gameboard table again so Parson can lead the armies from the city?

Yes I like the descriptions a lot also. Seems less ambiguous some how than some of the strips. "Six dwagons," eh? Big big loses there.

Imperialistic Chinese... didn't FAQ have a similar architecture?

"Toothy bits" on top of a fortified wall is called crenellation. The high parts are merlons and the lower parts are embrasures.

The change in style in the buildings and the foreboding tone of the omniscient narrator definitely set the right mood for things. Getting such a powerrful Capital- everything is changing and the architecture is becoming representative of what they are NOW. I'm interested in seeing what Stanley says to Parson, most of all.

I found this update to be very satisfying, but somehow it only made me want more. Well done.

Still avoiding the "Stanley wants the Arkentools and now Wanda has one, so is he going to kill her and take them?" question. I had really expected that one to get some real panels. I think that piece of the story is the one I'm most regretting getting this treatment. Stanley has to grow as a person to overcome his obsessions in order to recognize that owning a second tol is less powerful than having a willing employee own one.

So buildings pop at a particular level on the turn they are ordered. Still unclear if buildings can be upgraded.
