Authentication Mail Problem

Howdy Rob, Jami or the Admin of erfworld.com

Attempted to register login and after 3 times the forum will not send me an authentication email. I am not sure if it is due to email address used or if there is a system problem I am not aware of. I was going to contact the admin there but it said I had to LOG IN to do so and since I am not authenticated it wont allow me, and there was no other external link that I could find easy to send an email to.

(I posted a reply on the GitP forum suggesting a spam-filter check; that and forwarding the message here was all I could think of.)

Hi, There's a shot that your email system is filtering our emails. What is your email extension (gmail, hotmail, etc.)? In all cases of this if you have a serious problem you can email me at harknell at onezumi.com and I can manually validate your account.

Hi, it's up to you on the account name. I can change the old one or you can keep the new one. I'd suggest using the one that has the functioning email address though.

I had a similar problem. Yahoo dumped my confirmation email in the spam folder. Had to go digging.

Hi guys. My friend St.Sinner is having trouble too, and she can't find an authentication email in the junk folder either. Her username is St.Sinner and her email address is inkspot8039@hotmail.com.

This is explained in the Known Issues thread. Hotmail threads can't register for some unknown reason.

Unknown as in it's not known why the emails get bounced back., which is what happens.

Hi, The main problem with Hotmail is they use a goofy spam prevention system which is very self serving and non-standard. You can easily end up on a spam list through no real fault of your own. They also have a weird setup requirement for your server. Anyway, we are trying to resolve the situation, but for the moment we ask that hotmail users please try to utilize an alt email address for your accounts if possible. We CAN authorize accounts manually, but you'd still be in for a problem if you ever need to get your password again, and you won't receive any reports if you get PM's or other news broadcasts. We're really sorry for this inconvenience.

I had this exact problem. Had to go and make a new Yahoo adress rather than use my usual hotmail. Could the accounts named Hhean and The Hhean be deleted so I can get this 01 off the end of my name?

The Arkenwrench is sad it did not find this thread before it attempted to register. Could the account 'The Arkenwrench', and 'Arkenwrench' ( I registered twice as I thought I had spelt my hotmail wrong the first time) be deleted so the 1 can be removed from my name?
