Hobgobwin appearance: OotS influence on Erfworld?

I have a question that has been bugging me for quite a while.
While re-reading OotS books I have noticed that hobgoblins are depicted as yellow/orange-skinned in OotS and as yellow-skinned in Erfworld.
I am only remotely familiar with AD&D, but I made a small research and found out that hobgoblins are supposed to have red-brown or gray skin and red or orange faces.
So my question is: is hobgobwin depiction in Erfworld considered traditional or is it a reference to OotS's hobgoblins?

I'd say yes. But the term hobgobwin was never used in the strip, it's just a fanname, based on the fact that they look like the hobgoblins in OotS.

That doesn't specifically establish that the units that look like Mung and the KISS are "hobgobwins", but it's an obvious inference.

Well, I guess I should counter check next time my declarations. But that has become meanwhile quite difficult with 160+ pages.

I am pretty sure they are, though. By now we've seen everything GK has to offer, and nothing else remotely fit the hobgobwin name.
