Erfworld, panel-by-panel

Check this out.

You can go through from panel 1 to the end of page 2. On the old wiki prototype I made a long, long time ago I had it through to the end of page 19. Some of the links are outdated, so if you think it's cool I'd love help transferring files and whatnot.

Interesting, is that so you can read the comic panel by panel without the later panels acting as spoilers?

Partly. It creates a different reading experience that way. It also allows panel-by-panel breakdown with descriptions of what's going on for disabled readers. I'm pretty sure we can think of more uses, eg. for easy referencing by panel.

Glad you like it! I have to say, you did a great job capturing motion in a lot of these scenes. They almost animate themselves when set up this way.

Have to agree that this is a very nice presentation. When the first book's finished and I have time, I'm going to want to reread the whole thing this way.

That's an amazing amount of work. I hope you've got the patience to stick with it. Very cool... and funny!

Description
Manpower continues to stare forward, unmoving.

Text

Manpower: I can taste key lime pie.

Other notes
Key lime pie is delicious.

Text and Descriptions are now contained in their own pages and then included.

This means that the text from:

http://www.erfworld.com/wiki/index.php/TBFGK_1:1
http://www.erfworld.com/wiki/index.php/TBFGK_1:2
http://www.erfworld.com/wiki/index.php/TBFGK_1:3
http://www.erfworld.com/wiki/index.php/TBFGK_1:4
http://www.erfworld.com/wiki/index.php/TBFGK_1:5

is automatically included into

http://www.erfworld.com/wiki/index.php/Erf0001

(more accurately they both include the text from the same source)

In both cases, it is just a 1 line template to include the text.

This means that the page annotation and the panel by panel pages won't be just repeating the same work.

This is pretty awesome. It would be *especially* cool, once this is done, to compile it into a movie, perhaps with each frame showing up for a period of time proportional to the amount of written text on it. Luckily we have that stat here on the pages.

An unfortunate side-effect: panel-by-panel pages *dominate* the Wiki, so that the "Random Page" functionality is almost useless.

Don't think of it like that: think of it like "random page" works kinda like the "random spot in the comic" feature some comics, like schlock mercenary, have.

This is also a great way to search for a particular word or phrase you remember in a comic/panel you are trying to find! Great work! :)

The images for all panels are now done.

The text/descriptions are still needed, and also categories for the people that appear in each panel.

If I understand the setup correctly, most of the actual page content is entered into the "Description" and "Text" template pages for each panel. I've done a batch of panels (up to Page 6).
Is this a real holy war, or just a bunch of deluded boopholes croaking each other?
