Tension between Parson and Wanda in Spacerock?

Postby GaryThunder » Sun Apr 24, 2011 12:32 am

Wanda clearly respects Parson a great deal, but at the same time, she's used to dominating everyone she deals with recently. If Parson's goals contrast with her own (if he wants to *gasp* try diplomacy in person, and Wanda wants to bring down the house, for instance), Wanda may try to evade Parson, or flat-out defy him...in which case Parson would have to make a show of authority, the way he did with Maggie earlier ("D'you have to understand? It's an order! Remember those?"). This could cause an...interesting reaction among the Decrypted, to see their Mistress rebuked. Not to mention what it would do if someone clever like Tramennis was watching...

Possible, I think. Maybe not plausible, but at least possible.

she feels guided by fate. If she feels parson, stan, or anyone else is in the way it's easy to see her try to get back on track, so to speak.
I would be a procrastinator, but I keep putting it off.

I don't know... I get the impression that, just as the Decrypted are in awe of Wanda, Wanda is in awe of Parson.

I think that, in a way, Wanda sees Parson as an AGENT of Fate. She is merely a piece on the board, but Parson is something that makes Fate happen.

Do the math.

Wanda knows Parson was summoned from Somewhere Else. (She should after all, she did the summoning)
She knows that there was a lot of Predictamancy involved in the making of the spell. (Marie Predicted she'd get the 'Pliers in the first place)
Parson has done the impossible, not once or twice, but SEVERAL times.
It was Parson's Volcano trick that finally enabled her to get the 'Pliers.

It isn't Parson's fault that she got off track. On the contrary, I think she might look to Parson to find out how to get back ON the right track.
She sees and knows that Parson can solve at least some of her problems (see here). I don't think that she would go against Parson, or at least, not for THAT reason.
