Not particularly surprising, but well executed.

Nice to see what hippymancy looks like in action, not the least because it's very pretty! And of course the scroll ends up being given to Parson, not simply used - whether that was what the original plan was or not.

Moby Dick reference - is Charlie going to wreck himself chasing Parson, now?

My reaction: Aw yeah!

And we see some of the real power of the hippymancers. Remember the "Even a grand abbie couldn't hope to quiet this battle" quote from way back when? Looks like hippymancers can stop units from attacking. Possibly even entire armies. That'd be a big deal in Erfworld.

I love the "This way to the Egress!" quote too. Tho I think it was somewhat expected.

Omg just thought of something. I hope Parson hires Janis and takes her to Jetstone for the battle.

First time to see 'hippie magic' indeed, until then I think it was just speculated at being a way with words.
Parson gets the scroll, to use at leisure, I believe someone called on that.

...and i'm 2nd (3rd snipe argh) poster... unusual considering i randomly checked on the page during the day.

The flower popping on Jojo's head after the Hippymancy is a nice touch :)

The double whale puns (Moby Dick, Free Willy) were also well done.

Awesome awesome awesome. Great art. And great dialogue here. Lol @ "free will-y". And we actually got to see Janis' hippiemancy in action!

Was going to make an account just to reply to this, turns out I already have one XD

Anyway, hopefully I'm not the only one to get the awesome! (if not somewhat obscure) Tiffany Aching/Terry Pratchett reference in the last panel. Woooooo. Also, love the trippy hippiemancy.

I wonder if that proves it was an "attack" or if the calming spell stops any action against another unit.

... Nvm, apparently TPratchett himself was making a reference to something even earlier :O. Once again, another subtle reference goes right over my head...

Yay! Sizemore is like "I'm stacking, watch me get busy!" And holy boop, the puns... ;)
"Do it?" Dan, I'm not a Republic serial villain. Do you seriously think I'd explain my master-stroke if there remained the slightest chance of you affecting its outcome?

I did it thirty-five minutes ago.

The art was especially good in this one. Well done on the expressions, especially panel 6.

That's the only Avedon I know... imagery doesn't fit though, as far as I'm aware.

*shrug* Maybe I'm being too literal.

LOVE this update. The art is fabulous, pushed over the top by little touches like the flower in J's hair. The puns and references are on a whole new level today too, and more plentiful than usual. Certainly one of my favorites!

George Harrison by Richard Avedon

Image

Part of a collection of pictures of the beatles. Fits in with Jeftichew's similarity to George Harrison.

Also: Barnum's American Museum

"At one point, Barnum noticed that people were lingering too long at his exhibits. He posted signs indicating "This Way to the Egress". Not knowing that "Egress" was another word for "Exit", people followed the signs to what they assumed was a fascinating exhibit...and ended up outside."

Ok that was a little out of left field. First I kinda expected Sizemore and company to rush in and save the day but and Parson to get said scroll but how that came to pass was not what I expected. Hippymancy is unusual and although it hitting Jojo is poetic I feel that how even the supposedly peaceful caster is utterly devastating. I got not much to say here this comic was different but highly enjoyable.
I came, I saw, I had fun!

I love how fierce Sizemore looks in panel 6.

He still likes Parson, despite everything...more than just Duty.

He also is starting to realize he is a bit of a badass...especially underground, on his home turf.

With Jojo sorted, what are the GMTTA up to?

I guess that more or less approves that the scroll could send him back to earth. From now on Parson has no excuses, all that happens under his command is his responsibility.
I love uncroaked Dora. I love an anonymous friend even more.
