Lothmar wrote:Yeah, that's the only reason I ran instead of toughing it out. Bare survival instinct is telling me 'let the fresh troops cycle in if they're coming to help'. Of course next round I intend and try and get some payback, but that's assume they dont start targeting our healthy guard/party member combos on the walls and I end up accidently taking another aoe in the face and get sent flying of the walls onto one the villagers spears cause I fumbled on a luck roll. XD

If it happens it will be because I'll have lost my temper over something, and as soon as that happens, I'm not just a noob DM, but a bad one, too.

I really should have redied my standard action, would have been a clear shot to those mages and no one would think im a coward for running XD. But if I based my post on what was going to happen (and cant necessarily forsee(but highly suspect)) rather then what was or is happening i'd feel like I was metagaming.

Raigne wrote:No, it's just good tactics, not metagaming. You should be anticipating what the enemy will do. I was standing behind the guard for a reason. He'd ruin the LOS for two of the mages if they wanted to target me at that point. Then I figured if they centered it on one of the other party members they may still be able to hit me anyway, so I may as well ensure my shot had the best chance to hit.

Raigne wrote:I don't think their goal is to level the town. Townspeople are taking up arms to fight, which means they aren't partying. I think that's the point here. To disrupt the party and thus kill the spell.
