I could try to cook up a Devil-aligned side. I feel like there's some room for an occupied Poland side, perhaps based on some "DiPole" joke.

But I don't really have any concrete ideas beyond that terrible, terrible bit of wordplay.

Spudniks


The hardcore allies of TCD, the Spudniks are experts in Tech-A-Mancy, producing towering metal golems of remarkable strength.
The spudniks specialise in extremely high altitude fliers, but are not bereft of ground units, their cities being defended by a vast array of carbohydrate heavy warriors.

I laughed. And, after all, aren't terrible bits of wordplay the basis of everything Erf?

So I came across this little gem while thinking of Chinese communists. I have absolutely no idea how to integrate it, but I find it HILARIOUS.

Might bust out some colored units over the weekend. (Not Erf style, I'm afraid, but maybe you'll like my own way of drawing things?) Anybody want to see something of there's in color really badly?

And, hey, now that I think about it, somebody should make a cinematography wild unit. Roaming black and white, silent, and color films for all sides to tame!

DiPoles may work as well. I suspect their leader is a bespectacled white cat?

Mostly, lurking--I should have some more free time in the near future, so I can start getting back into Erflife

Anyhow, for the DiPolish army, one of their specialties is clearing land of lost weapons & Dirtamancy Traps (using magnetism, of course), and as with most CD allies, there's a bit of an emphasis on quantity over quality in regards to troops.

Colors are red and blue, with the sickle of the logo being replaced with a stylized horseshoe magnet (the Arkenhammer can stay or be swapped for a bar magnet).

A bit busy with finals at the moment, so I'm afraid there won't be a lot of creative stuff coming from here, but maybe you guys would appreciate the Crimean War children's book I'm doing for European History.

Unfortunately, the creative well is still dry over here, but here's food for thought: now that we are buzzing with sides, what about battles? There was a historic conflict -somewhere- (based off of one of those Cold War conflicts, perhaps?) between the Pigs and the Devils. What was the context of the battle and how did YOUR side participate?

The Cruel Overlord of the Nasties!

The Pigs and Devils had to put their differences aside to defeat the Nasties, some hundreds of turns back. Now the Nasty Empire has been defeated, but the PIgs and Devils are rebuilding the cities and claiming their territory...

Shall we go with LTDave's little gem of history? What was your side doing BEFORE the great conflict between the Devils and the Pigs? Were they part of the now defunct alliance with the "Nasties"? In which major battles did they take part in? Have at it, you rogues!

Lets keep that gem of history then. But surely the remnants of the nasties are on the moon.

Anyway, on the topic of who the SG are aligned with- all I know now is, never with GK. But it boils down to this- are the Capitalist Pigs Royal? Are the Commie Devils? Whoever is, gets the SG allegiance. The Nasties, presumably non-Royal, would not have been SG friends.

Incidentally, since Nasties was given to a film-based side, I couldn't help think of Video Nasties, and decide that the Nasties were strong shockamancers, weirdomancers, croakamancers and all kind of naughty, oddball and corrupting. Definitely not regal.

Pretzel schrudel lederhosen! Oh! Oh, hello, everybody. It's your favorite Nasty Overlord, Adolf, just saying zhat zhe var is going great. Zhe- zhe Devils, zhey are coming here to surrender. And, um, vell, ve have lots of new videos for zhem to see, or ve vould have if- if all zhe actors veren't dead. But zhat's OK! Zhat's OK! Because zhe Devils are still coming here to surrender and, uh, you vill all fight bravely. Just in case, zhey don't, you know, surrender vhen zhey get here. Shortly afterwards, the Devils stormed the city, fighting a very brief battle until the Nasty Overlord croaked by his own hand. He decided to go by gunshot, in the end.
