Since no marbits seem to be hungry, M14 (to be named "Cook") will rest off the illness. If he gets another action he'll make a sickle.

M14: REST, REST, REST, make sickle (or REST if still ILL)

Another thing we can work toward is a watch tower, so we can see what is in neighboring hexes. Also, can I claim on of the new marbits next turn to help with harvesting food?

I tried that. Several times. The only way you're going to get an NPC is to either wait until everyone else has maxed, or make sure you're the first poster.

EDIT: Hm... Or, if you'd like, you could come with me. It's a pain for me to have to compete for resources with the more active players, but I wouldn't mind sharing with a more passive one.

Part way though the off-turn, a strange creature enters the hex from the North.

Otis yells out "It's an Otisbit!"
The Marbits automatically Stack Up, ready to defend each other.
But the Otisbit does not engage. Instead, it waves and smiles, and then gives a piercing whistle.
Another strange creature enters the hex from the North.
"An Otisfang!" shrieks Otis.
The Otisfang comes and sits at the feet of the Otisbit, who strokes it lovingly behind the ears, smiles, waves, and leaves the hex.

Some explanation is probably in order.
I process orders in terms of seniority - the oldest Marbits act first as a rule. Posting order on the forum does not come in to it - it would be crazy hard for me to keep track of all the changes that happen.
This is only my intention. I sometimes change it to act in the interests of the players.
So, this turn, M5 wanted to make a shield, but there was no wood available, so I delayed his actions until after another Marbit cut some wood.
M17 wanted to dig for more Ore and make a Sword, but there was only enough wood to do one of those things, so I changed the order to a more pleasing effect (I hope).
There was a big bust up between Werebiscuit and Nnelg over who would get the NPC - so I had M6 befriend him first, then later, M20 befriended him.
I decided that this is probably the best way to resolve this issue, rather than always favouring the oldest Marbits.
M6 had already handed him his knife, so that's what happened.
M21 tried to pick up an axe (but they had all been taken), so no axe for him.
I try to act fairly and impartially - or is it arbitrarily and with caprice?

So wait a mo... M6 doesn't have a knife?...even though the unit list says he has ?

Better change my orders yet again...

tee hee hee, Werebiscuit. Getting in quick, I see!


I've reduced the time for orders to 24 hours (a fast game is a quick game, I always like to say).
Any Marbit that does not post orders in that time will automatically "Gather Food" - they are hungry little beggars.


The "Otisfang", now released from its master, has reverted to its wild state. It has Combat 8, Defence 6, Hits 12, and Move 6.
