Re: Lorax
Thanks! I was afraid no one would get that. It took me ever so long to think of a proper pun on its name, and in the end I couldn't think of one, so I cute-ified it instead.
Re: Tabula
I don't want to get into the habit of explaining little things I want people to figure out for themselves and go "Oh, that's what's going on here!" (there is a bunch of that), but I think this one is fairly basic and will help to show their presence..
Tabula Rasa is a latin term meaning "Blank Slate", which means in itself to begin anew, to start fresh. Tabula itself means Tablet, a utensil you write on, the "Slate" portion of Blank Slate. Slate, of course, refers to the diary-esque fashion the updates come in, while "Blank" is just associated with the entire storyline in a fashion.
Obviously Tabula brings to mind Tabula Rasa, Blank Slate, but it's not ACTUALLY Tabula Rasa, it's just Tabula. It's not Blank Slate, it's just Slate. It just calls up that association automatically due to the phrase. Although the slate SEEMS clean (your unconcious association of Rasa to Tabula), it's not. The character writing these entries is not a blank slate, but comes from another side and has some history (and was level five to begin with.)
There is more to it, but I think that much answers your question, does it? :]
TL;DR: So it means "Slate", but actually refers to quite a bit of things. Smilie face here.
