When I read that Parson was demoted an image of him sitting around with a coconut drink in a hamstard beach shirt popped in my head. I couldn't shake it so I did a picture of it. I guess after that battle and getting no credit for the win, one would deserve a day off.

been too busy to finish it, the cintiq arrived, needed to put out some gameart before the programmer lynched me. and i'm waitting for z brush 3.5 as we speak. which looks like it should truly be like sculpting models from nothing. getting some practise in while i wait. foregoing sleep as usual. plenty of time for that when i die

Tell me how z brush works, I'm not a 3d guy but I am interested in learning a little bit about it.

it's kind of like digital clay, and digital paints, the new version is finally capable of making art without needing another 3d app to start the process.

it allows a massive level of detail to be sculpted very efficiently, ie gears of war and it's sequel used z brush heavily for all their organic and stone work. they also roughed up the metal work. so z brush did the majority of epic games heavy lifting. it's not something i can really explain though, http://www.pixologic.com/home.php cruise around here for a while

Well, no reason why there can't be a mini game inside the game. Final Fantasy has been doing it for over a decade. Heck, some muds would have people play dice or cards, or tetris even.

Hell, maybe minatures for erf world would be a great idea! (Titans, hint, hint...if it isn't in the works already...) It would be neat to see in the story though. Maybe that is how the holotable worked? I think it was actually.

Moose, thanks for the link, much appreciated, and that is freaking amazing idea. Virtual clay sculpting. Maybe 3d artist can one day sell their individual pieces to video game makers.

they can and do now, sites such as turbo squid allow exactly that. unless your godlike at world art competition is fierce, charaxter art is the lucrative avenue

Huh. Good to know, and I can see why. Making a blade of grass look like grass is hard, but to sculpt an entity the suspends disbelief is some amazing talent.
