As far as the "everything has gotten cloudy" line, the way i picture Fate in Erf is kind of like a rapid moving creek, with stepping stones all along it's length. The stepping stones represent fixed, mandatory events, which are Fated and MUST occur. Think Doctor Who at the end of David Tennet's run, some things just HAVE to always occur, no matter what. Everything else int he stream, however, all the watter russhing by, ar free variables. The people with no stated Fate, like Delphie. They can do pretty much whatever they want most of the time, but they will bump into the stepping stones, and each other, all along the way. But they get glimpses of what's to come through Predictamancers, and they attempt to control their collision with the Fated events as much as possible. Sometimes they do ok, sometimes they make a trainwreck out of it. Our story, here, is approching one of those Fated steping stone events, and everyone is attempting to pull the stream in a different direction to make sure that THEY can dodge the crash. The result of so many powerful individuals attempting to influence the outcome of the Event has the same effect as a head of cattle stampeding through the creek; the water becomes muddy and NO ONE can clearly see where the Rock is anymore, and EVERYONE ends up crashing headfirst into it.
Even Wanda's initial rebellion against Fate didn't have the disastrous and chaotic results that we are seeing here. Because it was really only ever HER fighting her Fate. I believe that her father would have gone along with Delphie's plan, even after learning about her scheming, if Wanda had agreed to it. He would have resentedit, but he let his daughter decide for herself. Int his case Jillian has been fighting Fate every step of the way, Olive is trying to take the VERY easy way, Faq want to find a way to at least get a neutral pass, Wanda desperatly wants everyone on the Easy way, but totally lacks the authroity to make the calls; and it's no wonder that Marie sudden'y can't see anything except muddied waters.
