Changing ERF

Postby WhirdCheese » Wed Jun 19, 2013 6:28 pm

The fourth game (to my knowledge) to be started using these rules. Credit to Kaed for making them.

The erf is newly forged, and with it comes new tribes. Unfortunately while the titans had made the land, they weren't done changing it. As these new sides were coming to terms with their surroundings, the terrain is changing, sometimes for the better, and sometimes for worse. With the terrain changing beneath your feet can your side survive? Can anyone?

This game will be slightly different as no city sites have been created yet. Therefore there is also no upkeep. These will become factors after a set number of turns. Combat, turns, and movement are the only mechanics in place.

Everyone will start with a level 1 warlord. He's essentially your ruler, and if you lose him you lose. The point is that your leader can level up, which will be very useful in this game.

Also please PM me your sides don't post them here.

Hey now, lately it's been a joint effort between both myself and Kaed...and I'm not even sure we were the original creators come to think of it.

Nota Bene, Rulers can level in the existing rules. We didn't explicitly state it, but they get treated like Warlords.

There's gotta be a good joke in here somewhere.

Kaed was the first one to put the rules together, IIRC. Others had put in their two cents and it's changed a little since then.

Been following Kaed's game for a while, looks interesting. I'll try to get a side up Tonight.

What are you doing for the flight special as far as cost and the broken combo with range?

Flight and range cannot be paired.

Costs are in google docs, and I see no reason to change them.

It took a bit longer but I've got my applicant side in, that said I should probably be last on the list given that I'm in two other games <_<

Application in.

Whird, is it okay if we use a variant on what our resource point is and does in the fluff, so long as the mechanics remain the same?

I've got two completed sides and promises from another.

Would like four sides to begin.

Oh, wait, did mine never get sent? I know I had it all typed out and everything and could have sworn I sent it, but I don't see anything in my sent folder or anything like that.

Okay, this time I did send it, you get it, or is erfworld conspiring against my side already?

The erf has swallowed your side up before you began. It may also happen in game.

I do not have your side.

EDIT: Have it now.

This is interesting and I'm intrigued by the rules. However, I'm more into using mobile, irregular, ranger units and archers. Is that possible?

Can you build them within the rules?

Just wondering if it has ever came up before, but can stuff made from fabrication be given to infantry units?

In the version of these rules Twoy made (back in the day) frabricated items could only be given to special units. I had about fifty units churning out sets of heavy armour (+10 defence) and advanced weaponry (+5 combat) and even special shoes of special movement.

But the Pikers and Stabbers couldn't use them.

The rules linked do allow for Infantry to use Fabricated things

Speaking of being able to level, does leveling actually do anything directly? The rules don't state what the bonus might be, unless the unit has leadership, in which case it would provide more leadership, but otherwise... a +1 to all stats? A few points to distribute? 1d4 points randomly distributed? What?
