I've been reading for as long as I can remember. I like funny stories, subtle and tricky stories, true stories -- overall, most kinds of thoughtful stories, even if that thought is as simple as "I like soccer, and this is why."
I read more than I write, joke more than I complain, and say less than I think. One of my top ten bodies of fiction is the Green Lantern Corps -- an entire army of different people whose dedication to Getting Things Done drives way more than their imaginative superpowers do.
I don't like the spotlight, which is why I love supporting characters and humble heroes. My favorite male fictional character is Odd Thomas from Dean Koontz's book series by the same name. He shows humility and kindness no matter where he goes or who he meets, making his abilities to see dead people and intuit the truth all seem secondary. My favorite female fictional character is Tiffany Aching from Terry Pratchett's "Discworld" series. In a world where magic is academically real, witches of the Disc specialize in the knowing of people and of putting things right in ways that magic can't even reach.

(That's in decreasing order of publication volume.)
