"Aqua Velva" is the name of a men's aftershave that was quite popular in the early and middle parts of the 20th century.^[1] Hence, when Jillian notes that Al Frappacino "smelled funny. The whole town did, in fact,"^{summer-updates-014} it is a reference to the aftershave's pungent and distinctive aroma.
