Real World References
A reference to David Bowie, who wrote and performed a song named "Changes" and also an album by the name of Changesbowie. He also played a shapechanging Goblin King in the movie "The Labyrinth" specifically the form of a barn owl. David bowie is also known to have changed his appearance and musical style many times throughout his career.
