- Diecast can refer to the phrase "The Die Has Been Cast;" making a decision or taking a course of action that can not be undone pr taken back. This phrase supposedly said by Julius Caesar when he crossed the Rubicon River with his legions to march on Rome in 50 B.C.
- Diecast can also refer to Die Casting, a process in which molten metal or other liquids is forced into a mold and allowed to harden. This may relate to the unattractive and utilitarian nature of the city.
