Findamancy is one of the three disciplines of the Magic class Hocus Pocus; it is aligned with the axis of Erf.Erf-b1-p038a

Speculation
Due to their involvement in Parson's discovery, it may be assumed that they may be used to find things, like people, and may be involved with the promotion of warlords. (Stanley, having no findamancers, used his own methods of promotion, mainly aesthetics, rather than strategy.) It is possible that findamancers can block other findamncers attempts to find a peticuler person, place, or thing, such as making a place like FAQ unfinable (unplotable al'a harry potter).
