Manpower the Temporary was Chief Warlord in the service of Stanley the Tool. After falling in battle, he became one of Stanley's uncroaked warlords.Erf-b1-p027Same-site.PNG

His demise was an indirect result of the Titans leaving behind an extra gem (a rhinestone fallen from the clothes of one Titan) in the Minty Mountains, leading to the Marbits buying another squad of axemen which breached the flank of Stanley's spidews leaving Manpower exposed.Erf-b1-p001Same-site.PNG

During Wanda's conversation with Stanley following her uncroaking of Manpower, she suggests that Stanley had picked him not for his command abilities, but because he was "another pretty boy". Stanley initially requests that Manpower's replacement should be "the most dashing and handsome [living Man] left" before agreeing to use Wanda's Summoning Spell.Erf-b1-p005Same-site.PNG

Speculation

Plot

Lord Manpower the Temporary was leading Stanley's troops at the Battle of Warchalking. When the right flank of his battle line was breached, enemy archers were able to approach and fatally shoot him through the eye.

However, Wanda Firebaugh was sent by Stanley to uncroak Manpower. He thus remained in Stanley's service as one of his uncroaked warlords.

Later, he, along with Sir Leeroy Jenkins, and Phat-Singh, are sent with a large force of Dwagons to raid the coalition column; after destroying half of the coalition's siege units, Manpower was permanently destroyed by Prince Ansom using the Arkenpliers.

Since units (presumably) do not have a leadership bonus until after they are promoted to warlord, it is likely that picking "dashing and handsome" units to promote is Stanley's attempt to use natural Signamancy to determine which units will give the best leadership bonus once promoted to warlord, attempting to maximize the statistical bonuses provided by warlords to the exclusion of their ability as strategists.
