Proposed Canon
Pierce is a Healomancer in the service of Jetstone. He is Level 7 (almost 8) and as such the highest level Caster in Jetsone.
Real World References
With his surgeons garb, homemade healing potion martini and gallows humor he is a clear reference to Benjamin "Hawkeye" Pierce from MASH.
