Magic101
Proposed Canon
A Magic Item is an item that is both magical and made by a mortal. An item with magical powers created by the Titans is called an Artifact.1

Speculation
Magic equipment worn on the head, such as Parsons 3D glasses and Message Hats, may have their powers increased by Hat Magic, or they may only be able to be created by Hat Magic.

Known Magic Items
Eyebooks
Stanley the Tool and his main subordinates (Wanda Firebaugh, Sizemore Rockwell, and Parson Gotti) carry eyebooks. They resemble ordinary hardback books, of variable size (see below). They were created by Stanley's trio of linked casters, using the three disciplines of Eyemancy (Lookamancy, Thinkamancy, and Foolamancy). Once created, they function under their own power, and continued to do so after the trio was unlinked.

An eyebook is able to transcribe messages from the user's thoughts and send them to another user's Eyebook. Parson also uses his to keep a journal (called a "Klog", derived from "book log", in the same way that a real-world term "blog" is derived from "web log"). Eyebooks also have the ability to change size, conveniently shrinking to be easily carried and growing to a size suitable for the user. This is not a power unique to them, however.

The name is a play on the iBook type of laptop computer.

Eyemancer Table
During the Battle for Gobwin Knob, Stanley's forces utilized an Eyemancer Table created by the same linked casters that made the Eyebooks. The tables primary functions allowed Gobwin Knob to observe enemy troop deployments and direct their own troops from a secure, central location, with a greater degree of clarity, speed, detail, and accuracy than the maps and sand tables combined with scouts or independent Lookamancers employed by all other sides.

Flying Carpet
Prince Ansom has a flying carpet. It resembles a conventional carpet, either rolled up (which is Ansom's usual style of riding) or spread out. The type of magic it uses has not been specified.

The carpet can carry at least two riders.

Message Hats
Jetstone has at least one pair of message hats. They resemble top hats. Presumably, they use Hat Magic, but this has not been specified.<BR>
Stanley and Wanda communicate with them after the Battle of Gobwin Knob 2009; Queen Bea of Unaroyal used one to communicate with Don King 2009.

A written message may be placed into the sending hat and transmitted to the receiving hat which rumbles to alert the owner. These particular hats only work in one direction; however, other hats capable of two-way communication may exist. (Upon being given the sending hat of the pair, Jillian Zamussels asked if it was "dual use" and was told that it was "abjuration only". This appears to imply that the former term describes a two-way hat and the latter describes a one-way sending hat.) Jillian used what may have been two-way hats to communicate with Count Vinnie. http://www.erfworld.com/wiki/index.php/First_Intermission_48

According to 1.10, "Hoffa" is the magic word to transmit the message (perhaps because it is "lost") "Livingston" is the magic word to retrieve a message (because Dr. Livingston was famously found.)

3D Glasses
Parson's 3D Glasses were discovered in his first Stupid Meal1. They grant him one of the abilities normally associated with Commanders native to Erfworld: when worn, they allow Parson to view the stats of a Unit such as Move, Hit, Attack, and Defense, as well as any Natural Abilities of the Unit. They also allow Parson to see the name of a Unit, which is not an innate ability of Warlords and Casters.

Mathamancy Bracer
A plastic bracer that arrived in Parson's second Stupid Meal. With a neat little groove for his calculator watch to fit into. Apparently a powerful Mathamancy based item (or possibly an Artifact1) of great interest to Mathamancy dependent or interested factions like CharlesComm11.

The Sword of Lord Hamster
Parson's Sword arrived in his Stupid Meals - one part per day for three consecutive days. According to the Luckamancy Charms cereal box1, the sword is the final item necessary to turn Parson into the "Perfect Warlord" that the Summoning Spell intended him to be. (The other items being his 3D Glasses and Mathamancy Bracer). Stated abilities include Leadership, Combat and Ruthlessness.

"Magic Dust"
Wanda Firebaugh appears to use yellow dust with magical properties to change the memories of the hobgobwin Mung.1 This may have been a spell cast with a visual effect or physical component.
Similar Magic Dust is used by Maggie when she influences Stanley to appoint Parson to Chief Warlord. While it is drawn from her purse, it is unclear whether it is a magic item or simply how her Thinkamancy manifests in this instance, but in both cases the applied effect of is a magical "suggestion".

Bracer Blaster
Prince Ossomer of Gobwin Knob, (formerly Jetstone), carries a bracer created by Ace Hardware that, when the word "Tesla" is uttered, fires a "teleforce" ray (force beam action that really lights up!) that was powerful enough to knock Ansom off of his carpet. LIAB 8

Laurel of Napster
The Laurel of NapsterLIAB Text 11 was created thousands of turns ago by a three-way caster link between a Thinkamancer, Hat Magician and Date-a-mancer. The Laurel, while not providing specific numbers, gives the user intuitive knowledge about the probable outcome of a given fight between two combatants. It is possible that the laurel provides concrete numbers when used by a genuine Date-a-mancer or Mathamancer. It is currently in the possession of Chief Warlord Duncan Scone of Faq.

The Laurel of Napster is a reference to the Real World Napster, the file sharing software turned pay site that allowed users to share music by matching them to each other.
Changemancy is one of the three disciplines of the Magic class Stuffamancy; it is aligned with the axis of Fate.1

Known Changemancers
*Bowie, formerly in service to Unaroyal, now residing in the Magic Kingdom.

Speculation
It seems possible that the Arkenhammer is an artifact of changemancy fate magic, as the known powers are to alter walnuts(nut->bird), alter the holder's movement type(ground->air), alter the demeanor of dwagons(aggressive->subservient), as well as their side(Barbarian->GK) and fire lightning bolts(inert state->excessive electrical state). Further, the only known user attuned to it is a pure method of change(piker->warlord->Chief Warlord->Heir->Ruler), whose stated goal is to alter the face of the world(warring states->singular empire). On the other hand, any "effect" could be said to be a change from one state to another and could thus be included in the above list. Virtually the only power that would not fit "changeamancy" would be to do nothing, or to prevent change.

Changemancers may be able to affect the specials of units. Example, changing a certain unit so that it grows wings, giving it the flight special. Or possibly just the caster, like David Bowie shape-shifting in Labyrinth (the only known Changemancer being named after him).

Turnamancy is one of the three disciplines of the Magic class Spookism; it is aligned with the axis of Erf.1

Turnamancers can reduce the build time for units produced in the city they are located. 2009

Abilities
* Increased Production Efficiency:
With the help of a Turnamancer, Charlescomm can pop archons 3 per 2 turns, instead of the normal 1/turn, and Faq pops a Royal Heir in 40 turns instead of 60. This effect may be a sort of time warp (a slowing/speeding effect). Note that, in all known cases, having a Turnamancer reduces production times to two-thirds of what they are without a Turnamancer; this may be a constant ratio.

* Prisoner Turning
A Turnamancer can work on a prisoner over time, decreasing Loyalty and Duty to their Ruler and making a conversion to the Capturing side more likely. Turnamancy can also counter Loyalty spells preventing a voluntary turning.

* Turn Alterations
End another sides turn (after a brief warning).LIAB 21 This is quite a powerful ability, and may only be accessible to high level Turnamancers. Vanna accomplished this while linked with Charlie, a Thinkamancer.

Known Turnamancers
*Vanna, formerly in service to Unaroyal, now working for Faq on contract, paid by Charlescomm.

Speculation
There are two known examples of the turnamancy speedup; the first is increasing 1 Archon / Turn to 3 Archons / 2 Turns. The second is increasing 1 Royal Heir / 60 Turns to 1 Royal Heir / 40 Turns. Both of these are consistent with the idea of the Turnamancer "storing" their turn on the first turn, then granting the stored turn to the city on the next turn. This may be how Turnamancers do it. Turnamancers may also be able to "steal" another unit's turn in battle, effectively paralysing both units.

Turnamancy might alter the flow of time (turns) in some way, perhaps gaining more time for one's own side or units, or removing move or actions from the other side or units.

If Turnamancy can slow time, this could be useful not only for popping units, but allow Regents to complete rounds and still have time for actions, or have direct military application.

Alternatively, it may be an effect not on how long a turn lasts but what can happen in that turn; possibly increasing production values and income. It may also be possible for a stack led by a Turnamancer to move farther and/or perform more actions/attacks per turn.

A master class turnamancer (or two, linked) may be able to skip an opposing side's turn.

Natural Turnamancy may be how turn order is decided.

People often comment that Turnamancy appears to be a combination of two unrelated spheres of magic: loyalty and time. It grates against common sense to see a sphere of magic based upon a homonym, pun, or turn of phrase. Actually this may be a clue as to the fundamental nature of erfworld. It may be that to its very core erfworld's logic is derivative of certain aspects of English speaking Earth culture rather than having an internal logic of its own.
Isaac is a Headmaster among the Thinkamancers. LIAB Text 40

First seen when Parson entered the Magic Kingdom after the Battle for Gobwin Knob, he summoned the Thinkamancers to unravel the Croakamancer-Dirtamancer link up, saying they'd do it for no charge.

Isaac is a rarity among the casters of the Magic Kingdom, not content with debating and arguing over theories and hypotheses on the nature of magic and Erf, but actively working to discern reliable and consistent facts. So far, this has led to the creation of a number of devices to aid thinkamancers in better accessing nodes of amplification or attuning to the frequencies of certain G-String vibrations (all of which resemble children's playground equipment from our world).

Speculation
Should he ever link up with a Carnymancer, they will create devices capable of automatically switching Thinkamancers between nodes at precisely calibrated frequencies to achieve Thinkamancy that, while not as versatile, will actually rival the Arkendish in power (like a Ferris Wheel or a Roller Coaster).

Isaac may hope that he or one of the other Great Minds that Think Alike can replace Charlie as the attuned holder of the Arkendish, if Parson succeeds in defeating Charlie. This would explain their motivation and Janis' comment about the Thinkamancers "thinking" they understood the purpose of summoning the "Perfect Warlord".

Real World References
His name coupled with his tendencies as a natural philosopher are a reference to Isaac Newton.

His appearance is a reference to Carl Sagan.

His desire for the Arkendish as a tool of observation may also be a reference the use of radio telescopes in astronomy.
Some time after Stanley the Tool sacked the City of Faq, while Stanley and a group of casters were outside of the capital on an attack, the hobgobwin and gobwin natural allies of Gobwin Knob suddenly broke alliance, croaking King Saline IV and leaving Stanley (as heir) Overlord of Gobwin Knob in the field. Returning with his stacks of dragons and caster units, he promptly retook the capital and the Gobwin and Hobgobwin units surrendered and reformed their alliance to him.

It is extremely rare and serious for a group of natural allies to break alliance with their chosen Capital side. Generally, a natural alliance will last as long as both sides survive. And considering that the remaining gobwins and hobgobwins rejoined the new Overlord of Gobwin Knob (and stayed with it to the last hobgobwin, this betrayal was strange indeed. It is unknown exactly why the tribes broke alliance, but Vurp (as the last surviving hobgobwin witness) has lied to Parson Gotti to cover up the true events (or at least his knowledge thereof).
"I take it Faq did fall?" - Prince Ansom1<br>
"Instantly. One turn I got a frantic message about an overflight of dwagons. On my next turn, I was a barbarian." - Jillian Zamussels1 <br>

Faq fell to Stanley after he was contacted by Wanda Firebaugh, who conspired with him to attack the capital1.
Wanda Firebaugh planned for the attack to take place expecting Stanley to fail in his attack, but switched sides to serve Gobwin Knob after it became apparent that Stanley would live and Faq would fall. Stanley attributes his success to the massive number of wild dragons he encountered and tamed en route and is under the impression Wanda simply misjudged the tactical situation he would have arrived in otherwise. His trust in her was supported by witnessing her turn mid-battle and her capture of the Tower from within (which included creating an uncroaked unit from the King of Faq himself).
Jack Snipe was arranged to be out of the city at the time, leaving it exposed and vulnerable, but later was captured when the remaining two cities of the side were razed by Stanley the Tool after this battle.
Speculation
Presumably, Faq's Predictamancer escaped into the Magic Kingdom. Any other Faq casters likely did the same or were croaked in the battle (or subsequent razings). It may be possible that one or more other casters (it is not known exactly how many existed at the court of Faq) were indeed captured, but have since croaked (or been disbanded) in service to Gobwin Knob.
Background
After ending Gobwin Knob's turn early by Turnamancy, Queen Jillian Zamussels of FAQ left the Siege of Spacerock before it ended.

She and her Chief Warlord Duncan Scone planned to raze several Gobwin Knob cities on their way back to FAQ, including Brookstone and Progrock 2.

Charlie initiated a Thinkagram to her, telling her to return, but Duncan was able to convince her to keep to their original plan, partly through the implication that Charlie might have been trying to influence her with magical suggestion (Book 2, Text update 32).

Because Vanna had already ended Gobwin Knob's turn and then tried to turn Prince Ansom to FAQ, she began the attack of Progrock at zero juice.

The Attack
Queen Zamussels initiated the entirely aerial assault with basic screening maneuvers and a relatively unopposed move on the Tower through the air space. Her prisoner, Ansom, chided her for skipping protocol of circling the garrison to scout before attacking, but she ignored his comments and did not encounter any unexpected traps or resistance. During the battle, with victory imminent, Queen Zamussels began taking prisoners (with the implied intent of having Vanna mass turn them to shore up Faq's infantry), but only with living units; she ordered decrypted enemy units destroyed and crushed several to dust with her Megalogwiff mount (by engulfing them as Ansom was and then squeezing them to death). As the battle ended, Ansom indicated to the Queen that he did not approve of her conduct regarding the decrypted units.

The loss of a city did not escape the notice of Gobwin Knob's Chief Warlord, Parson Gotti, who made a note to deal with retaking the city and possibly hunting down Queen Zamussel's strike force on the next turn (and left orders to have his successor do the same if he were to croak in the action at Jetstone that turn).

Background
An initial manoeuvre by Wanda and Prince Ansom to capture Prince Ossomer was successful but led to a skirmish in which the Foolamancer, Jack Snipe, and Prince Ansom were injured. Interrogating the turned Ossomer revealed information about hidden reinforcement columns prompting Wanda to lead an assault against Spacerock's garrison from the air with the intention of croaking King Slately; this would disband or convert Jetstone (since Ossomer was heir).

After the first turn ending, the Battle of Expository Bridge continued with Haggar and Faq's forces softening the Gobwin Knob units up, capturing Ansom in the process, for Jetstone's ground forces to attack and wipe them out before returning to Spacerock where the ground infantry took up residence in the Atrium. Haggar's forces are then believed to have retreated towards their own capital, likely using all their remaining move in the turn, while Jillian withdrew with the goal of destroying several of Gobwin Knob's cities on her way back to Faq.

Gobwin Knob's turn
Before the force turn Faq leader Jillian Zamussels moved to intercept and parley with Wanda in Spacerock's airspace. Jillian "agreed" to leave without a fight but instead of telling Vanna to go into the Magic Kingdom as she had claimed, ordered her to cast a spell arranged by Charlie. This Caster link enhanced spell forced Gobwin Knob to immediately end turn leaving Wanda stranded in Spacerock's air space and the infantry column without any air or caster support.

Coalition's turn
The Setup
Jillian's capture of Ansom caused Gobwin Knob to lose their Chief Warlord. Parson Gotti presented Stanley with several possible candidates for Chief Warlord among Gobwin Knob's forces in Spacerock's Airspace, however a suggestion spell cast by Maggie caused Stanley to promote Parson Gotti into the role and leave him to manage the battle. Parson quickly came up with a plan, contacting Jack Snipe to discuss Jetstone's likely response and ordered him to cast a Baffle over Wanda's stack before laying out his plan to both he and Wanda. Parson then ordered Sizemore's return from the Magic Kingdom, promoted himself to a field unit and proceeded to the armoury where he equiped himself with several Magic Items, intending to join the battle at Spacerock by passing through the Magic Kingdom with Sizemore's protection then continued to Gobwin Knob's portal room. Meanwhile, Tramennis returned from the Battle of the Expository Bridge and convinced King Slately to let him contact Charlie who gave Tramennis information on Parson Gotti. Tramennis then proceeded to discuss possible diplomacy with Gobwin Knob, including an alliance with a non-aggression treaty that would see them croak Wanda and take the Arkenpliers as opposed to simply croaking Gobwin Knob's entire attack force. They then made demands to Gobwin Knob for parley requiring them to dispell all foolamancy and bring the forces away from the tower but over the Garrison. Parson ordered compliance with screening stacks to be placed between Wanda and the tower before having Ossomer meet for parley and stall for time.

The Landing
As Parley began, Yellow Dwagons opened fire with Acidic Battlecrap attacks on the Atrium which destroyed the roof and croaked Jetstone infantry in the Garrison's courtyard. Tramennis responded by ordering the casters to fire the tower's Shockamancy spells on the Yellow Dwagons and order the retreat of Jetstone units from the Atrium where they were being croaked or, in the case of Duke Adam Antium, wounded. As Maggie reported the casualties of the Yellow Dwagons, Parson ordered the promotion of all Hobgobwins in the airspace to Heavy Units, causing their mounts to fall steadily into the open Atrium and land, together with giving the "Go" order to Wanda stating "Lets do Lunch". At this, Wanda commanded the uncroaked riders in the airspace to Harvest their Dwagons (a process which croaks the target unit in a single hit) causing the croaked Dwagons and their riders to fall into the Atrium, killing some, wounding or incapacitating others and croaking the remainder. Wanda was incapacitated in the fall but a healthy Jack Snipe steered Antium away from her with a displacement spell on her croaked mount and Wanda herself, together with A Veil which disguised him as a Jetstone Warlord. This done Jack Snipe proceeded to cast a Healomancy scroll on Wanda. Jack recommended to a now-functional Wanda that they find leadership and re-stack. Wanda decrypted her fallen dwagon, and was almost attacked by Antium. However, he was inopportunely hit with a stray arrow and croaked. Wanda decrypted him for use as "leadership".

Notes
*Hippiemancer Janis has fetched Predictamancer Marie Lavraie and the two of them are heading for Magic_Kingdom#Portal_Park where they intend to see Parson Gotti enter the Magic Kingdom
*Maggie has encoded a message into her G-String which she hopes the Great Minds that Think Alike will read, informing them that Parson will be passing through the Magick Kingdom to Spacerock. It is her belief that they will protect and/or assist him (particularly against the threat of any interference or attack from Charlie).
* The battle as it has progressed so far has involved only one Siege-type engagement (the Yellow Dragons' destruction of the Atrium roof) and would certainly not qualify as a "siege" by the traditional definition of a prolonged assault on a fortified position; the battle having lasted less than a single day so far, with the invading forces already penetrating defenses in the keep.

Wanda Firebaugh is a Croakamancer in the service of Lord Stanley. Before entering Stanley's service, she worked for the Kingdom of Faq. She is capable of casting a wide variety of spells, including the spell that summoned Parson, but claims to dislike casting spells which are not related to croakamancy. She has a talent and a taste for interrogation and is capable at it to the point she can break a Royal's will. Wanda's ability to gain Jillian's cooperation through torture suggests that Wanda has some talent for Turnamancy, since it seems similar to the process Vanna used while turning Duncan Scone. Jillian thinks Wanda's technique is superior to Vanna's.

Wanda sees herself (and Stanley) as "minor actors" serving a greater destiny. She believes she and the other individuals who are attuned to Arkentools have a role to play in the Titan's plans, and that no one (not even herself) can prevent this plan from happening. She does think that by supporting the Titan's plan, and not opposing it, she can reduce the amount of pain and suffering experienced by everyone involved.

Wanda is of average height for a human female from Erfworld. She has raven black hair that reach to her shoulder blades (but is frequently worn up) and white skin. Her eyes are light blue with a white sclera, but no pupil, and the eyebrows are trimmed thin. Like all Erfworld humans, she has a somewhat childlike lower body with slender hips, adequate cleavage, and an overly large head (though this might just be due to artist drawing style). She dresses only in white, red, and black, and usually has some skull motif somewhere in her clothing or accessories.

The Maze of Fate
Wanda is absolutely convinced that Marie Lavraie revealed to her some predictions about the future of Erfworld that are certain to come true. She knew that she would one day attune to an Arkentool, but did not know how this would come about. She also knew that it was the Fate of the Arkentools to be found and brought together. As a consequence, whenever she had to make a decision, she took the path which seemed to lead most directly towards the fulfilment of these Predictions. If a choice seemed likely to increase the probability that she would gain an Arkentool, she made that choice, even if it seemed horribly risky. So she conspired to bring Stanley to Faq, because it was possible that he would die in the battle, allowing her to take the Arkenhammer. When that plan resulted in the destruction of Faq, she encouraged Stanley to adopt the high risk strategy of questing for other Arkentools, because it was possible that he might find one she could attune to. The quest for Arkentools nearly led to the destruction of Gobwin Knob, so she persuaded Stanley to buy an untested, potentially dangerous, and highly expensive spell which might bring a "Perfect Warlord" to Erfworld.
This spell ultimately did lead to Wanda attuning to the Arkenpliers, which reinforced Wanda's conviction that Marie Lavraie's Predictions had been true, and that her method of trying to push history in the "correct" direction does produce results. After she had obtained the Arkenpliers, Wanda made some comments to Parson which indicate that she thinks she knows some things about his future as well.

Now that Gobwin Knob's campaign to conquer Jetstone has begun, Wanda has once again started to make very dangerous choices, such as her decision to deviate from the battle plans proposed by both Ansom and Parson, and her decision to personally lead the attack on Spacerock. Given Wanda's past history, this apparent recklessness may represent an attempt to fulfill another of Marie Lavraie's Predictions. Jack Snipe has suggested that it in fact may have more to do with Queen Jillian.

A Question of Loyalties
After Wanda gained the Arkenpliers, she believed she'd found the most direct pathway to the achievement of her Fate. However, the sudden shift in her fortunes after she turned down Jillian's offer of an alliance has persuaded her that she has somehow deviated from the correct path, though she doesn't yet understand precisely how.
She will need to decide whether her error was her failure to immediately croak Jillian, or her failure to ally with Jillian. She continued to serve Stanley after she gained an Arkentool because she believes it is the destiny of the Arkentools to come together. But the restoration of Faq means that Wanda could theoretically choose to rejoin her former side, if she decided that doing so was consistent with her Fate.

Jillian has told Wanda that it is possible for her to rejoin Faq while still fulfilling her destiny, but has not yet explained precisely how or why this is the case. In light of her new-found uncertainly about her correct path, Wanda may try to reopen negotiations with Jillian at the first opportunity, in order to explore this option more fully.

Wanda's Wardrobe
One of Wanda's listed strengths is Fashion, so it's not surprising that she changes her raiment much more frequently than any other character. At present, Wanda wears an outfit and hairstyle nearly identical to those the Rocky Horror Picture Show character Magenta wears in the final scenes. For a catalog of her costume, visit Wanda's Wardrobe. Note that this page is image heavy.

Wanda's Livery
Wanda's livery is a Grey, flowered skull on a black field.

Relationships
Marie Lavraie
Wanda and Marie both served King Banhammer as Casters in Faq. Marie has profoundly affected Wanda, first by Predicting that she would someday acquire an Arkentool, and later by arranging for Wanda, and Gobwin Knob, to be the recipient of the Perfect Warlord spell which summoned Parson. Marie chose to give the spell to Wanda, despite the objections of Janis, who strongly disapproves of Wanda. The fact that she survived the fall of Faq suggests that Marie may have known of Wanda's plan to lure Stanley to Faq, either because Wanda told her about the plan in advance, or because she Predicted it herself.

Charlie
Wanda may be the single greatest threat to Charlie's survival, because Wanda is trying to start an ideological war. As long as War is simply a matter of different sides competing for economic resources, then most Royals will not hesitate to hire a non-Royal Mercenary like Charlie, if it seems profitable to do so. But by spreading the idea that there is an inherent ideological conflict between Royals and Units attuned to the Arkentools, Wanda is damaging Charlie's ability to persuade Royals to hire him.

Speculation
Wanda's Fate
Wanda does not know her ultimate Fate, though she believes she must gather together all of the Arkentools. But if the Titans believe that their creation has outlived its usefulness, then it may be Wanda's Fate to perform the ultimate act of Naughtymancy by destroying Erfworld. Given that all of the Arkentools were used to create Erfworld, it may be that all of them are needed to destroy it as well. It may be that Marie understands Wanda's Fate, but believes, as a Predictamancer, that it is not her place to try and stop the Titan's will. It may be that Marie arranged for the Ultimate Warlord to come to Erfwolrd so that he might unknowingly insure that Wanda achieved her Fate.If this is the case, then she has mislead Janis by persuading her that summoning Parson will result in the end of War on Erfworld. Of course, the end of Erfworld would also mean the end of war on Erfworld, so perhaps she has not explicitly lied to Janis.

Plot
Wanda's earliest known affiliation was with King Banhammer of the Kingdom of Faq. Wanda is sometimes referred to (for instance, by Sizemore) as "Lady Firebaugh," which may be an indication that she is a noble.

Following Stanley the Plaid's discovery of the Arkenhammer, she attempted to acquire the Arkenhammer by arranging for Stanley to attack Faq. She claims she expected Stanley to be croaked, but her plan failed when Stanley destroyed Faq. She then changed sides, and encouraged Stanley to seek the other Arkentools. 1
Since the fall of Faq. Wanda has behaved in a way that suggests she is loyal to Stanley. She obeys his commands and serves his side without being under any loyalty spells. However, this may have been only to preserve his power as a tool to aid her getting an Arkentool to attune to.

During the events described in Book One, Wanda supplemented Gobwin Knob's rather meager forces by using Croakamancy to animate fallen troops as uncroaked. In particular, all of Stanley's remaining warlords (after the death of Lord Manpower the Temporary), were uncroaked.

Wanda served as Stanley's chief adviser, being both highly intelligent and adept at persuading him to adopt her suggestions and think they were his idea all along. Most notably, she persuaded Stanley to spend the bulk of the treasury on a spell to summon a "Perfect Warlord" with the military genius to salvage Gobwin Knob's untenable situation, the casting of which summoned Parson Gotti to Erfworld.

Wanda contributions to Stanley the Plaid's war effort during this period included the practice of her "hobbies" -- torture and interrogation. After Jillian Zamussels was captured and brought to Gobwin Knob, she was subjected to torture and a magic spell (presumably some sort of Thinkamancy) and persuaded to reveal Prince Ansom's battle plans. (There is also a heavily implied sadomasochistic relationship between Wanda and Jillian, which indicates Jillian may not have been totally unwilling.) Wanda also demonstrated that she was capable of handling a wide variety of other Magic, but professed to lack real interest in any besides Croakamancy.

Wanda has recently come into ownership of the Arkenpliers and was able to 'attune' to them. According to her, it was Predicted in Faq "long ago" that this would come to pass, and that she has "wrecked and ruined" more than Parson (who, for perspective, had at the time of this comment just recently brought about the destruction of the entire Royal Coalition present at or near Gobwin Knob as well as all but a few soldiers on his own side) to ensure this would come to pass.

Wanda was able to utilize the Arkenpliers to acquire control of a large army in a single turn because she had the remarkable good fortune to attune to the Arkenpliers immediately after an army of thousands were croaked and before the bodies vanished. The fact that she acquired an Arkentool at the exact time and place where her new tool could provide her with vast power suggests that her belief that she was 'fated' to gain an Arkentool is correct.

Since she acquired the Arkenpliers, Wanda and her Decrypted Chief Warlord Ansom have defeated Unaroyal in the name of Lord Stanley. Their next target is Jetstone.

Other Speculation
Wanda informed Parson after the Battle of Gobwin Knob that her real loyalty is not to Stanley, but to Fate. The question is, what does she believe it is her fate to do?

Wanda knew that she was fated to one day attune to an Arkentool, but did not know which Tool it would be, or exactly how this would be accomplished. This suggests she has not been in direct contact with Marie Lavraie. However, now that at least part of her Prediction has been achieved, she may try to seek out further contact with her.

Her willingness to continue working with Stanley, even though she now has an Arkentool of her own, suggests her future goals require at least two Arkentools. It's possible that she will try to acquire other Arkentools for other members of her side, such as Sizemore, Jack, or Maggie.

Real World References
Her name is a pun on "wand of fireball", a fairly common magic item in "Dungeons & Dragons" and other fantasy games.

Depending on pronunciation, her last name also becomes "firebug", a slang term meaning someone who relishes causing destruction, especially through the usage of fire.
A very prophetic last name indeed, given the pivotal role she plays in the Volcano Uncroaking.

Croatan tribe that Wanda hails from really existed and is really lost.

It was pointed out that a company named Zhejiang Wanda Tools Co. Ltd specializes in making pliers.

Her name has been used as a reference to the film, A Fish Called Wanda; however, there are no obvious parallels between the movie (the fish Wanda or the character Wanda Gershwitz) and Wanda Firebaugh.
Some have speculated that the death of the fish called Wanda at the hands of Jillian Zamussels may be foreshadowing a similar fate for Wanda.

Wanda Firebaugh planned for the attack to take place expecting Stanley to fail in his attack, but switched sides to serve Gobwin Knob after it became apparent that Stanley would live and Faq would fall.
Jack Snipe was arranged to be out of the city at the time, but later was captured when the remaining two cities were razed by Stanley the Tool after this battle.
Presumably, Faq's Predictamancer escaped into the Magic Kingdom before the King was killed. Any other Faq casters likely did the same or were croaked in the battle (or subsequent razings).

Jack and Wanda have known each other longer than most other units within Gobwin Knob. Both Wanda and Jack come from the Kingdom of Faq and turned to Stanley's side when he destroyed their native kingdom. While in Faq Jack and Wanda used to spend time together discussing the philosophy of magic.

One philosophical question that fascinates both Jack and Wanda is the nature of Love. Is Love a form of Natural Magic, perhaps a form of Natural Thinkamancy or Natural Hippiemancy? Jack believes that Love is a force which is far more powerful and mysterious than any form of magic. As he once told Wanda, "I suspect, love is something greater than magic itself, perhaps something even the Titans are helpless before."

Wanda and Jack's interest in this question was probably related to the fact that they were both deeply attracted to Jillian. Jack doesn't seem to have been angry or bitter that Jillian favored Wanda over him. Wanda made a point while in Faq of using Jack's full name and title, suggesting that she wished to maintain a certain degree of formality in her dealings with him.

Jack currently thinks that Wanda is a "vessel cracked worse (and repaired worse) than he," referring to Wanda's emotional and mental state, and may resent the fact that Wanda suggested allowing him to croak so that she could decrypt him. However, any concern he may have about her growing power didn't stop him from having some fun at Wanda's expense by pointing out that Jillian may now prefer Ansom over both Wanda and himself.

Jack has also implied that he may be aware of some of the details of Wanda's role in the fall of Faq, specifically what went on at the battle for the capital when the King was croaked.

Cloth Golems
First Appearance: TBFGK 10

Cloth Golems are golems that have the appearance of large stuffed animals, down to being filled with stuffing. They are Heavy units. They are created by, healed by, and receive bonuses from Dollamancers. They include several types, including Battle Bears, G-RAFs, LFNs, and tankeroos.

Known Users
*Jetstone
*Charlescomm

Battle Bears
Battle Bears have the additional ability of carrying and throwing large boulders, at their opponents or to damage walls. They served as siege units used in the Royal Crown Coalition and helped breach the Outer Walls of Gobwin Knob.

Tankeroos
Tankeroos are mounts that look like aggressive toy kangeroos and carry their riders in their pouches.

LFN
LFNs are mounts that look like toy elephants and have the mass to crush smaller opponents.

G-RAF
G-RAFs look like toy giraffes. It is unclear what special abilities they possess.

Dirtamantic Golems
Dirtamantic Golems are created by Dirtamancers out of various earthen materials - stones, rocks, metal, and, erm, "soil," or Crap. They can be healed by and receive bonuses from Dirtamancers. Known types include Crap, Metal, and Rock (Soft, Hard, and Acid).
First Appearance: TBFGK 53

This is a mass of crap animated by the might of Dirtamancy. By using shockamancy (possibly to detonate latent methane), they may detonate in a violent explosion. In-comic, this was trigger by having it's finger pulled by a Dirtamancer.
When one crap golem exploded, its sound effect was a well known imageboard. 1
Gobwin Knob had 19 of these on day 5. 1
Made of stone, looking like a "Disco" or "Psychedelic" era musician when people frequently went on LSD or "Acid" trips. It also has psychedelic patterns running through it. Gobwin Knob had two of these.
Speculation
Other Possible Golem Types
There are several units that have not been explicitly been called "golems," but share many of the same characteristics of golems. Scarecrows, Molls, and Dolls are all non-living units that are animated by magic. First Intermission 13 However, it is not clear whether they are truly golems, which are created and designed by their caster, or if they fall more properly in the broader category of non-living units that use existing material (like uncroaked units which, while non-living and animated, use the corpses of the croaked as their medium).

Real World References
The names of the different types of Rock Golems (including Metal Golems) are references to genres of Rock 'n Roll music. Furthermore, the physical shape of each type of golem is reminiscent of the type of music they represent. For instance, in the case of the Soft Rock Golem shown above, the image looks strikingly similar to soft rocker Paul Simon circa 1968. Similarly, four (presumed) Hard Rock Golems shown croaking a stack of marbit bear a striking resemblance to theme-rock band KISS.1 One of the other golems (possibly metal?) was stylized after the Comedian from the graphic novel The Watchmen.

Of the depicted Crap Golems, one is clearly identifiable as a dinosaur, one is a dalek from the television show Doctor Who and another resembles the titular character of the Schlock Mercenary webcomic.

The idea of a golem can be traced, through various role-playing game incarnations, to Jewish folktales and folklore describing animated creatures made from dust.

Proposed Canon
Information
Signamancy is one of the three disciplines of the Magic class Hippiemancy; it is aligned with the axis of Fate.1

Abilities
Natural Signamancy refers to the appearance of units.

Jillian: Became queen and began to lose some of her lean warrior muscle appearance. Looked fuller and more "royal."
Slately: Claimed that signamancy was a terrible curse. It revealed his true nature, "No unipegataur-riding warrior king was he, no towering leader and orator." Since he avoids battle and allows his chief warlord and other princes run the kingdom for him, he has shrunk, gotten fat, and his hair has turned white.

Also, other leaders appearance reflect a less vigorous lifestyle and may be due to signamancy. Don King and Al Frappacino. What effect if any it might have on Stanley (a non-Noble Infantry Unit promoted up through the ranks to Overlord) are unknown, but his stature seems the same as in flashbacks and he is known to still engage in combat on occasion (such as taming dragons).

*Caster abilities: As of yet Unknown

Known Signamancers
As of yet, no known Signamancer has been introduced, but apparently Transylvito has some.

Speculation
Hippiemancy is the magic of relationships: detecting and altering the forces of opposition and attraction which bind people or units. While no actual Signamancers or Signamancy has appeared in Erfworld canon yet, we can infer some things about the discipline's nature from indirect comments on it. Rob Balder has said about Signamancy, "Signamancy. Like the Peace sign, man. Like the protest sign, man. Signs, signs, everywhere a sign. Far out." The precise meaning of this is unclear; however, he is drawing a direct link between a visible symbol or word and a desired result. This is further strengthened by the nature of Signamantic philosophy - that all physical appearances are simply symbolic manifestations of the underlying "truth" of Erfworld.2009 Based on these, it seems that Signamancy is in some way concerned with the relationship between "real" things and the symbols that represent them - the relationship between the map and the territory, so to speak. Signamancy is also a Hippiemancy, which may indicate certain things about the flavor and details of the discipline, but since no other Hippiemancy is adequately described as of now, it is hard to draw concrete conclusions from this connection.

There has been some speculation about Parson being a Signamancer, based on the above clues and Janis's claim1 that he's some kind of Hippiemancer.

As Signamancy supposedly deals with the relation of what is seen and what is there it's likely that Signamancers are at least good at psychology if it's not actually included in the abilities.

Signmancy may have to do with refusing the intangible rules, as in a protest with signs where units seeing it are caused to have to 'roll against loyalty/duty' and on a fail be able to disobey orders without popping out of existence.

Real World References
Also, analogous to Enlightenment/Awakening in general particularly in light of Signamancy being an discipline of Hippiemancy with a sister discipline of Flower Power. For example that "The Signamancers claimed that all Stuff was Foolamancy." 2009 (note capitalized "Stuff" and "Foolamancy") is perhaps a paraphrasing directly the phrase "the world is illusion" as it is often expressed from an Enlightened perspective.
