Speculation
If Shockamancy does indeed deal primarly with direct damage spells, Rusty's presence in a kingdom that promotes philosophy over martial capability may be why he is the lowliest caster in Faq.
A "Rusty Trombone" is a somewhat unhygienic sex act. The fact that Rusty is not held in high regard might be connected.

The first reference to Orwell referred to him as "'big' Brother Orwell."

It is unlikely that Orwell is a reference to 'Orwell Engineering', which is a company that specializes in the production of precision machinery for the hot end of float glass production. There has not been mention of Eyemancy, but it is possible that Lookamancy provides the framework for this. If this is possible, then the Lookamancer Orwell may create spells to enhance vision, or Magic Items, such lenses or eyeglasses to allow for long-distance sight, much as the bats of Transylvito allow a unit to see occurrences in other hexes.
Background
On the 25th of January, 2011, User Vatcri created an account and then created the new wiki page "Employment In Tallahassee" with various links to external sites and much text.

With a single wielding of the mighty Banhammer Miment obliterated the page at 04:13 UTC on the 25 January 2011 and bannished the user.

The First Wave
Vatcri was shortly followed by Eaclasc who performed the same action only to be met with the same retribution from Miment. Others came but were dealt with swiftly as the mighty Admin sought to stem the flow.

For a while he appeared successful and on the 26th of January, Erfwiki rested, seemingly having won the fight.

The Full Assult
On the 27th of January, 2011, Spammer Feodfer lead the second assult against the Wiki and was followed relentlessly by an army of Bots who sought to create more and more accounts with more and more Spam pages. At one point, even the Main Page came under attack by the Spammer Ingvosm who replaced the content with the foul plague of Spam.

Administrator Miment fought valiantly against the onslaught with the help of User Charles and User NOIP who cleared and categorized users and spam pages alike, but it soon became evident that their fight was in vain.

The Call for Aid
Fighting a losing battle against the relentless Spambots, Administrator Miment and User Charles posted a plea for help in the Erfworld forum, requesting further anti-spam tools to be installed into the Erfwiki. Charles also PMed Rob Balder, CCing Harknell who had been missing since the 8th of January, asking for aid in the battle. Requests were also made on the talk pages of both Titans but it was Administrator Miment who successfully contacted Rob Balder in IRC who confirmed awareness of the issue and assured the loyal Tool that he was contacting Harknell with the news.
<pre>
[15:02] <RobTitan> Primary problem is with new pages being created, then?
[15:03] <Miment> Yes
[15:04] <Miment> Disabling new pages would be an OK temp fix, but requiring a proper captcha
on edits with new external links should stop basically any type of spam.
[15:07] <RobTitan> I will quote you on that directly to Harknell in this email I am composing.
</pre>

There is Another
As the Spambot's assult on Erfwiki died down the defenders sank with heavy hearts to lick their wounds and were made weary as they looked upon the mass of cleared spam pages that still required deletion. Its was then that Administrator CIHN arrived on the scene in time to clear up the rubble. Stepping out from the lurkes he purged the cleared Spam pages without mercy, leaving naught but a log of deletions in his path and there was much rejoicing as the Spammer's category emptied of its contents.

The Battle of Elviis-Death-Week
Lo, in the week of honoring the death of purported Titan Elviis, who walked into history one score and ten and four years past, a spammer didst appear bearing a name unlike other spammers previous. Zhangpan bore a name reversed from the honorable Pan Zhang who was a military general of the second century in the three kingdoms. This subterfuge temporarily bedazzled the guardians of the gates with the soon-to-be-dashed hope that Zhangpan would bring great glory to Erfwiki.
Several pages fell to Zhangpan's betrayal, but those denizens of Erfwiki who guarded the inner gates were not blinded by the reflected glory of Pan Zhang, and soon saw the actions of Zhangpan as what they were: wicked betrayal !

The Clones of Herr Spam Auf Deutsch!
The spam wars grew quiet for nearly two score days, and then a trickle of clones of Herr Spam Auf Deutch did approach the gates of Erfwiki. Initially, they came in quietly, perusing the wares and partaking of the olde stories told by many. After a large influx in the peak of the month of the great party Oktoberfest, the eagle-eyed User:Abb3w identified them all as strikingly similar. They were not only all speakers of the grand language of warriors (German), by they all spoke of easy money through gambling and lower energy prices, in fact, they had came to Erfwiki to market their wares and perhaps increase their Google Rank! Rebuffed by Abb3w's quick work, the word must have filtered back to those still coming up the trade-route for their presence fell to a trickle once again. Will another horde come through, perhaps for the spookiest Hallow's Eve party? Only time will tell.

March of the Spamsters, April Showers Flooding Mayflowers, the Coming of the Tarrasque, and the Arc of Noah in the Mayan Endyear
An lo in the time prior to the endyear of the Mayan fourth age, the bulwark of kitten-auth CAPTCHA did form a dike, and the mobs of spam-bots did fight against it. Like the futile dashings of a failed storm, their assaults didst wash against the dike, and made not even a dash of sound, nor a splash of sea-spray. The radio buttons of kitten-auth, adorned with web-comic images, proved an impenetrable barrier. Yea, and did the spam-bots rage, trying to decipher the radio-button festooned with Wanda's portrait. Many were the bots which were sent into Erfwiki demesnes, each retrieving a mere scrap of information. But alas, in the asking of the question, especially that of a multiple-guess question, is encoded the possibility of success. The thousands of failed spam-bots finally delivered the list of all possible matches to their robotic overlords. A small crack in the dike, barely noticeable at first, but soon a raging flood of pages did ensue. Selling all manner of trinkets and information, none of which relevant to the Erfwiki folks, for the speculations and facts of Erfworld ne'er didst they provide. At this time, there was no garrison left to defend the wiki, and the spambots found no resistance. Suddenly, and without warning, the great and powerful Tarrasque stepped forward. In a guise much like its quarry, it approached unseen before tearing through their ranks with great speed and ferocity, and greater stamina and a singleminded purpose: Destroy and Consume. Simultaneously, Commander I. Heartly Noah returned, after a long campaign in distant lands. Following in the wake of the Tarrasque, he put sword and fire to those left behind, alive and dead alike. Their flood of words, he purged. Their fake identities, false masks of genteel folk, did he rip asunder. As the showers of April spamsters tried to flood, the boat of Mayflowers was set by the glorious Commander. As of this tale, the battle rages on...

TO BE CONTINUED
Even now, the battle rages on between Spambot and Erfwiki as the Bots continue to create user accounts and Spam pages, but the Administrators and Users maintain vigilance as they await The Return of the Bureaucrat.
Requests were also made on the talk pages of both Titans but it was Administrator Miment who successfully contacted Rob Balder in IRC who confirmed awareness of the issue and assured the loyal Tool that he was contacting Harknell with the news.
==Background==

Commander I. Heartly Noah is a warlord of the wandering Poleaxe tribe. He's a popular figure but an uninspiring combat leader. His dance fighting abilities are rudimentary at best. He is, however, quick & agile and can navigate various terrain.

Noah is a thinker; a ponderer, a philosopher, a wonderer, a deducer, a fool. He is a diligent helper for the community, one as likely to posit his own opinion as to ask for others' or simply to get stuck in with the prevailing effort. His greatest nemesis is the Spammers, and he hunts them down with great vengeance. He was blessed by the Titans with special powers, and was a founding member of the AdMen, who are tasked with the defense of the Erfwiki.

Noah wields the dual tools of the Banhammer and Deletionism.

Real World References
The Poleaxe tribe is a play on the term "Polacks" for Polish people. Noah's actual surname is Polish.

Commander I. Heartly Noah sounds like "Commander? I hardly know her!" which is a take on a classic joke.

Trivia
Noah auditioned for every male character in the Book 1 Motion Comic.

Trivia
Since the Ad Council historically promoted the Rosie the Riveter fictional character, to promote the employment of women during World War II, as well as the famous "loose lips might sink ships" campaign, a historic scene might have some allusions to these campaigns. Likewise McGruff the Crime Dog was a part of another campaign of the Ad Council and may be seen in the future as a unit type or a City. The publicity around Nancy Reagans War against drugs included the "just say no" campaign with Ad Council producing PSAs about frying eggs and brains. It's not clear how a campaign "Friends don't let friends drive drunk" can be tied into the Erf story, but it wouldn't be surprising if Balder does so in some way. If the Ad Council's name is significant as more than a reference, it could indicate either that it was actually an alliance of sides like the Royal Crown Coalition rather than a single side, or that the side was governed as some form of oligarchic republic (perhaps with the Overlord selected by a council of senior warlords and casters), rather than a monarchy or dictatorship as most sides are. It is unknown how the rules for such a side would work in practice, if it is possible at all.

Real World References
The name of the side is a reference to Ad Council, an American non-profit organization that distributes public service announcements on behalf of various sponsors.

The tent flap rustled, but did not open. “Wanda! Breakfast!”

Wanda stirred in the wagon. “Yes, Chief. I’m coming.”

She’d awakened when the bugle called start of day, but drifted back into a catnap. Nothing had changed; the turn had not started and she had no juice yet. Goodminton took its turn with its allies Quisling and Frenemy, as part of the second turn in the battlespace. Haffaton was unallied, and took its turn at dawn.

The body of the scout would have depopped at dawn, had they not moved it out of the hex where it was croaked. Claimed as a spoil for Goodminton, it would only decay a bit when they started their turn later in the morning. Wanda wanted to be with the body when that happened, so that she could study the process. Her life was full of firsts, but the firsts within her discipline were the ones that most held her interest.

No provisions popped for her, since they had supplies and a chuck wagon. She planned to eat as quickly as possible, get her orders, and return to the tent. But when she emerged into the gray sunlight, the camp was in disarray. Tommy and the other three warlords had a captain of the guard surrounded, hearing his urgent report. Mounts were hurriedly being led forth, including her sawhorse.

“Wanda!” shouted Tommy to her. He whistled sharply and pointed to her mount, then turned back to the soldier with a question.

:::::::---

The leadership stack backtracked up the road to the trailing edge of the hex, meeting up with a stack of survivors on the other side of the barrier. Haffaton, the soldiers said, had attacked them from out of the hills. It was a force of about twenty mid-level firemen, and one level 4 warlord. They burned the four siege towers and one of the three battery chargers before the unled Goodminton units finally overwhelmed them.

“It’s my fault,” said Tommy bitterly. “I should have left leadership in the middle of the column.”

“But we scouted that hex they came from,” said Pom Fritz, a beefy man with a red beard and a single red eyebrow over his buggy green eyes. He was Goodminton’s highest-level warlord, and Tommy considered him a close friend and second in command. He jammed the handle of his great axe into the mud at his feet, placed both hands on the eye, and leaned on it in dismay. “We scouted this whole road three hexes deep. We were right to expect an attack from the fore.”

“Obviously not,” muttered Tommy. “They must have gone around. Or...come from farther afield than we scouted.”

“In this country?” said Fritz. “Hard to imagine either. Yon hexes cost six move apiece for infantry, where they ‘re passable at all.”

“Well, they got through somehow,” said Tommy, “and they certainly did their job. They haven’t left us enough siege to take Goodfinger’s gate, by my guess. Titans.”

Although she understood the seriousness of the blow to the battle plan, Wanda kept looking back up the road. Her scout was about to decay, and it didn’t seem as if she could do very much here. Haffaton was still on its turn, and Tommy wasn’t letting her away from his protection. She knew better than to ask.

Within half an hour, Goodminton’s turn started without further incident. They entered the trailing hex, and very quickly had their answer. The Haffaton firemen had been armed with pickaxes and shovels. This was a mining squad. Scouts were dispatched, and they found a hidden tunnel in the mountain in the adjacent hex. The enemy must have been hiding underground for several turns, waiting to thwart their inevitable move on Goodfinger.

Wanda walked among the fallen, now unconcerned about the one body she’d held vigil over. This scene was a massacre: twenty-two enemy saps, an enemy warlord, and forty-three of their own infantry.

She could feel them each, sense the skulls and the hearts and the spines. Standing among so many bodies was like finding a purse of so many gems. It was a heady, greedy, giddy feel. Oh, she was a lucky woman.

“Wanda? What can you do with them?”

The last time she’d noticed her brother, he had been talking quietly with his warlords. But now he was suddenly standing at her shoulder, looking down with her at the enemy warlord. She smiled up at him, but her face fell, to see his. He looked devastated. Guilty. His warlords stood off at a respectful distance, pretending to care for weapons or groom their mounts.

“Well, I have a choice, big brother,” she said softly. “This is a warlord. If I uncroak him, he would benefit from all of my attention, and all of the juice I can spare. The more carefully I cast, the fewer mistakes I might make, and the more he will retain of the power he had in life. I believe I could make him last as long as ten or twelve turns, and retain about half his levels and leadership. But I still might make a mistake.”

Tommy nodded. “I’m familiar with those.”

She gave him the blush he had failed to elicit with his ballad yesterday. “I could do better, if I were not so inexperienced.”

Wanda truly was embarrassed for being so weak. She could sense how far short of Croakamancy’s potential she would come when she did cast this spell. She had so little juice, and terribly little confidence to use it well enough. She suddenly felt as if that powerful woman only existed there in her bedroom mirror, and that she had left her back in the city. She wanted to fly home to see her, but her boots stayed planted on the road.

“What are our other choices?” asked Tommy distantly.

“I could concentrate on uncroaking more than one unit,” said Wanda, “diluting the effects, but giving us more units. Or I could attempt to mass uncroak every unit in the hex.”

Tommy looked at her sharply. “You could do that?”

She shook her head at him, very slowly. “Tommy... I-I don’t know. I feel it might be too much for me. A disaster. I could become overwhelmed. Maybe we wouldn’t get any units at all out of it. But if I succeeded, then the uncroaked units I create probably would not last more than a turn. Even the warlord.”

Her brother nodded again. “Wanda, do you understand what they did to us? We can’t take that city with only two siege. We’ll have to turn around and march for home.”

“I can’t uncroak the siege towers,” she said, apologetically. “So...the warlord, then?”

Something like a very small smile played around Tommy’s lips. He turned and took a few steps over to a fallen enemy fireman, bent down, and picked up his pickaxe. He held it up to her. “Bit of ‘boring warlord stuff’ here, but perhaps you should get interested, if you want to be a field commander. Siege towers are items, not units. They pop as equipment like armor. Like this axe. When you pop a siege tower, you get 8 digger units and a rolling tower. They’re like portable shelters, see? You put your units with the digging special on them, and they dig into city walls.” He shook the pickaxe in the air. “Our croaked guys and their croaked guys here all have the digging special, right?”

Wanda nodded.

“Well, then they can dig through walls,” he said, his smile getting a little less tentative. “I normally wouldn’t send valuable diggers into battle without a tower to shelter them from city defenses; they’d get wiped out fast. Losses are usually too unacceptable to do that. But if we’ve got a whole bunch of diggers and a warlord that’ll only last one turn anyway...”

:::::::---

Wanda’s scout was the only of her uncroaked units to survive the battle, and she spent another night with him. His only night. He stood sentry at the foot of her bed in her temporary quarters in Goodfinger’s garrison. He leaned and limped and shed pieces here and there. She laughed, and loved him for how crude he was.

For she was already level 2, and could do better.

This city was littered with enemy fallen. Tomorrow morning, she would have the chance to do much better than she had with this funny little bit of Matter.

“Dance,” she ordered the scout, sending it gyrating spastically into walls and furniture. She giggled helplessly into her pillow.

A stack is set of units from allied sides that is formed to create a combat advantage. Each unit in a stack can receive bonuses from other units in the stack, such as, but not limited to leadership, spell and artifact bonuses. As units are added to a stack they add to a stack bonus which maxes out at 8 units, however a stack can be larger then 8. A stack bonus should not be confused with hex bonuses that apply to all units within a hex.
The advantage may be for attack or defense, although it is known that you can stack for stealth purposes as well. LIAB Text 50

Speculation
Hexes seem to have a maximum number of units or stacks that can exist within them. Columns seem to form because there are too many units to fit within a single Hex.

The three-hex Column that retook Warchalking for Gobwin Knob contained twelve stacks First_Intermission_33, so the limit may be four or five allied stacks per hex.

It could also be that it was simply more efficient for the stacks to be separated, as their move stat was so different that, rather than slow down the fastest units to have them all arrive at the same time.

It is unknown why everyone doesn't just form massive superstacks to maximize bonuses; even if the stack bonus maxes at eight units, it seems that stack-range bonuses, such as the high stack-range component of Leadership, should be spread to as many units as possible (this strategy is touched upon in TBFGK 113). Also, stacks of nine or more units would have a buffer for their stack bonus, delaying the reduction of the bonus as the stack begins to lose units. Possible explanations include:

:Perhaps the limit on maximum stack size prevents it. This reference to a "max stack" appears to suggest this.

:Perhaps the bonuses only apply to the first eight units in the Stack.

:Perhaps each Stack can make a single 'attack', and anything beyond the first eight units isn't counted at all - thus, while it would provide spare durability, you can maximize your damage output by keeping the stacks as small as possible with the maximum bonuses. This would include the assumption would presumably be that you can reconsolidate your stacks quickly as they suffer attrition.

:Perhaps the bonuses actually decrease if a stack exceeds an optimum size.

Assuming Stanley took a max-stack to flee Gobwin Knob here 1, the size for a max stack appears to be no less than 30 units:

* 3 x Knights +
* 1 x Stanley +
* 1 x Jack +
* 24 x (Group B) dwagons (assuming they all lived, minus the three killed by Ansom) +
* 1 x Stanley's Red dwagon +
* An unknown number of reserve dwagons.

An unled stack must attack if an enemy comes within range. A led stack can choose whether or not to attack by the command of the leadership unit in the stack.

Text 40
In a string of dull days, this one surely looked to be just another.

Headmaster Isaac puttered around in his little park, adjusting and measuring. A cloud passed and the late-morning light shone down, causing his oddly shaped apparatuses to cast still odder shadows on the grass. Not for the first time, he considered marking out each one as a sundial to indicate his meeting times and appointments. But he would probably just forget which piece was for which event.

His work kept him occupied, but what had happened to the war? The real war. What had happened to the sense that events were in motion to change everything?

No-one spoke of it lately.

He supposed it was much like any other plan or scheme or Big Idea hatched here in the Magic Kingdom. The sideless and the helpless would talk excitedly for a while, then their plans would evaporate, never even to be mentioned again.

But Isaac's work, his search for reliable facts, did move slowly forward. Was that any different from the schemes of Predictamancers? He hoped so, but he didn't trust his own judgment of it.

A few of the Great Minds lingered nearby, occasionally using the equipment with hesitation. But Isaac was aware that this place usually stood empty when he was not here. He himself was the attraction, even among other Masterminds. They all had something they wanted to converse with him about, but they knew to keep their distance lest they disturb his thoughts.

Their constant attention left him somehow lonely, yet desperate for time alone. A paradox. Hm.

Wasn't everything, though? At the finest or grossest level of detail, everything seemed to be opposed to itself. A counter-force for every force, a reaction to every action. Opposite, and perhaps equal. He suspected it might be a law of Erfworld, but there was not enough evidence.

He dropped at once to the ground and sat on dry grass, cross-legged. For a number of minutes, he simply sat there beside a springmount and tried to work out how he could prove (or more likely disprove) such a thing.

It was a hard problem. Reliable facts were so difficult to come by! But he came up with a few promising lines of inquiry before his mind inevitably wandered away, drawn along the humming and tinkling vibrations of the world's strings.

He found himself staring up at the springmount, wondering if he should get up and tune it again. This one was modeled on a gwiffon, made of Thinkamancy-polarized Stuff and imprinted with Signamancy in bright yellow. It was centered on a single strong coil of steel anchored deeply into the ground.

The mount shape was neither fanciful nor accidental. One used this instrument as a surrogate mount, climbing upon it and building up a physical oscillation of the proper frequency to detect and study the Thinkamancy of orders. The intent of a commander in issuing an order to a non-speaking unit, or of a Ruler in issuing an order to a remote field unit, was one of the most interesting forms of natural Thinkamancy, Isaac felt. He really should log more time on the device.

He looked around the park. Nearly all of the machines he had built here worked on similar principles. G-strings vibrated on different frequencies, and would cancel or amplify each other across predictable distances. Before Isaac had built these devices, a Thinkamancer had to walk around until his head was in a place of amplification, then hold still.

But staying within one node deprived the observer of important perspective, much in the way that closing one eye caused a loss of depth perception, or covering an ear made it hard to tell the direction of a sound. It had already been known that two linked Thinkamancers standing in different nodes could detect and send far better than any one caster. Isaac had figured out that one caster switching rapidly between nodes had a similar effect.

And so he created a pendulum seat for a caster to swing back and forth between nodes.swing This worked very well for certain frequencies, but the nodes of amplification were not always aligned parallel with the ground. So he devised a simple lever and fulcrum of the proper length, to allow access to nodes which were separated vertically.seesaw This required two casters to operate.

...going in equal and opposite directions. Hm.

He stood up, glancing up the hill to the great Temple. It was also made of polarized Stuff, designed long ago (and modified more recently) as a refuge. Cosmic vibrations couldn't penetrate it.

So whatever Charlie could send wouldn't make it into the Temple. And whatever was sent from within could not be heard from without. The Temple was perhaps their greatest defense against Titanic powers the rest of Erfworld couldn't even imagine.

Isaac sighed wistfully, and walked toward the chute-and-ladder.slide The existence of the Arkendish troubled him not only as a Thinkamancer; it bothered him as a natural philosopher. As he struggled to find answers about Erfworld's nature through observation, there sat the Arkendish, the greatest instrument of observation there could ever be.

If only Charlie were one of the Great Minds. If only he Thought Alike.

Isaac climbed the ladder. He would go up, then come down. Equal and opposite actions. He had been an object at rest for too long now. Today, he would take some form of action.

At the top and bottom of the smooth inclined plane were nodes of intuition. One did not get more than a quick glimpse between the two, but that usually would suffice. If not, one could always climb the ladder again. This apparatus had a personal effect on the operator, giving him a glance at his own Fate and perhaps a vague insight or focus or warning.

Isaac put his arms up and slid.

At the bottom, he tumbled into the grass with a fleeting understanding...and a profound foreboding. He had the feeling that he had just glimpsed some kind of terrible finality. Was it his own?

He didn't think so. It seemed greater than that. And there was a string to follow to its source...

Maggie's. He plucked it.

He did not need to look up the cipher she used, as he had devised it himself. The message was clear enough as well, although it could have used a timestamp...

He stood up and thinkshouted, "Temple meeting! Now!"

As he ran, he considered whether this was his "action" or its "reaction." Things did seem opposite, but not at all equal. His feet pounded the grass, then the gravel path. His breaths came hard and heavy as he scampered up the hill. A reaction greater than its action was coming, he'd intuited. An avalanche from a pebble, a line of falling blocks, an inferno from a spark. Some other cosmic principle than paradox was in play here. But what could it be?

He couldn't so much as guess.

His sole reliable fact here was that the day was no longer looking dull.

Text 13
It all required an ordered brain.

Gobwin Knob's side now spanned fifteen cities, and about 9400 units. Among these were over eight thousand speaking units, any one of whom could request Maggie's attention via intense concentration. Similarly, she could reach out to these units herself, to relay orders or request status. Scouting units in all directions, some of them hundreds of hexes away, passed along terrain and encounter information to her as they moved. And with Archons out there in the field, she had other, primitive Thinkamancers to manage as well.

Some (mercifully subconscious) part of Maggie's mind was always sorting and prioritizing the incoming and outgoing messages, making little decisions which added up to bigger ones.

That was at the quietest of times. Before and during a major battle, it was more than she could fully process, more than she had the juice for. However structured and competent her mind might be, she was still only an Adept class Thinkamancer. Even a Mastermind would be taxed under these conditions.

Ah, even so. One did one's best.

Her primary concern at the moment was juice. This battle and this turn would represent (at best) only half the day's likely demand on her services. Even if it all went swimmingly and Chief Warlord Ansom seized his former capital with ease, there was a long day yet ahead.

Gobwin Knob's natural spot in the turn order came fairly early, before all nearby sides except Charlescomm and Transylvito. Transylvito was allied with the Coalition, so it currently took its turn with Jetstone. Today, Gobwin Knob's turn had begun at dawn, which meant Charlescomm was either absent from the battlespace or allied with a side that took its turn later.

The upshot of all of that was that all other enemy sides would take their turns before she could regain her juice. A Coalition counterstrike was nearly inevitable, so juice conservation was in order.

She was conserving now, but that worried her too. She had entirely too little idea what was happening.

The strike force was definitely in the city, but there had been no word from them for more than twenty minutes. She spent a tiny bit of juice to confirm the existence and status of the major units there, but did not open a Thinkagram. At least one Archon was supposed to send a full picture Thinkagram, once the engagement began. But it appeared that...

That subconscious part of her brain poked her in the ribs. She checked the Chief Warlord's location again.

"Oh dear," she whispered, very quietly.

Parson heard her. "What's going on?" he asked. The Situation Room had been silent for several minutes, ever since a brief discussion between Stanley and Parson about the color scheme of the tactical figurines had ended snappishly.

Maggie cleared her throat. "I don't know, Lord Hamster." Her Duty here was slightly vague. Clearly both Lord Stanley and Lord Parson would want to know that Ansom was not among the attackers. She particularly didn't care to mislead Parson any more than necessary. But if she told them, they would certainly give her orders which would involve spending more juice.

Even under a Ruler like Stanley, decisions on the battlefield were usually left to the field Commanders. If Ansom didn't want to lead this attack, that was his prerogative.

But it was decidedly odd, after that business at the bridge.

Yes, entirely too.

"I think," she said evenly and carefully, "that there may be an irregularity with the battle plan."
The resulting site is similar to ruins and can randomly pop Barbarian units, gems, and Magic Items. The city site may be claimed by any side and rebuilt.

Sacking may be a form of Natural Dirtamancy available only to Rulers, and implementable by Warlords they authorize to use it.

The side doing the sacking gains an immediate increase in their treasury.

Kona, a Level 3 city, yielded 20,000 shmuckers when Faq sacked it, while Progrock gave 40,000. This would seem to indicate that each level of a city doubles the gain from sacking, unless there are modifiers that haven't been mentioned yet.
Possibly a Level 4 city. When sacked, it gave 40,000 shmuckers, whereas when Kona was sacked, it only gave 20,000. Since it is unlikely that Progrock was a Level 5, this would indicate that it was either a Level 4 or there are modifiers to sacking which we are unaware of.

Hello!
Second, it's not really necessary to link every instance of something in an article. Or, for that matter, in a sentence. Seriously, if Jetstone is mentioned, two other words are said, and then Jetstone is mentioned again, you only have to link the first one.

Lastly, unless you're planning on making the page, you might want to keep from linking to non-existant pages.

Oh, and if you see spammer pages, feel free to replace the content with [ [ category:spammer ] ], and tag them in their talk page with the same thing. Helps the admins know who to ban, you see.
Hey, new guy - your enthusiasm is great and all, but please don't presume to declare what I am and am not doing with my limited time - let alone what I should be doing. I have deleted more spam and banned more spammers than anyone except Miment, and beyond that I have made thousands of updates on this wiki. If I delete redirects, it's because they're unnecessary and unused. Make redirects as needed, not for no purpose. Don't link to pages that don't exist, and don't make a page just to fulfill a link. The "minor character" pages I deleted were merely copies of another page - two of a group of five, inexplicably - characters that were barely mentioned, and you repeated information of the larger character that could not be corroborated for them. It was a dangerous assignment, their veil was blown upon the start of Haggar's turn and three of the Archons were croaked. Hilary immediately flew to the ground and surrendered once they were discovered but her partner was not as lucky. She was tortured by Prince Sammy and his retinue, sustaining a broken leg, injured eye, and other sundry harm but did not reveal anything about her mission or Charlie's plans. Fortunately, when it looked like things were about to get very bad for her, Charlie resumed communication (he ended his Caster link with Vanna) and asked Hilary to open a thinkagram so he could "negotiate" with Sammy.
Proposed Canon
Side
Transylvito is a vampire, mafia, and greaser themed Side of Erfworld ruled by Ruler Don King. They are currently closely allied to Faq. They include Vampires and Men as their sentient populace. Its Chief Warlord is Caesar Borgata, but a new Royal Heir is in production.
The symbol of their side is a red and black bat emblem.

Transylvito was part of the first Royal Crown Coalition during the Battle for Gobwin Knob. Their closest ally at the time was Unaroyal. At the beginning of the Battle, their troop contribution (29) consisted only of the Warlord Vinny Doombats and some Doombats, which were used primarily for short recon.
Later, Transylvito sent stronger forces (more than 300 doombats and 10 warlords, including Chief Warlord Caesar Borgata) to create a trap for Stanley the Tool at a choke point in the mountains leading to the Kingdom of Faq.
The trap succeeded in preventing Stanley from reaching Faq, but did not kill him, thanks in part to the efforts of Jack Snipe.
Despite the numerous vampiric themes Transylvito units have shown no indicators of being classified as uncroaked.

Location
Main article: Erfworld Geography

The allied Kingdom of Faq is located slightly to the north of Transylvito. The space of Faq was sometimes accidently crossed by Transylvito troops.
Transylvito is also close to the hostile Carpudlians and Jitterati, with an ongoing border skirmish over the Carpudlian city of Carport.

Capital
The name of the capital of the Transylvito side is also Transylvito.

Appearance
The city of Transylvito is built atop Mount Mofo. It is mainly accessible by air, but there is an old aqueduct trail leading up the mountain, which has a high move penalty. As Transylvito thus has little to fear from ground-based attacks, it has a flimsy outer wall, described as being more decorative than useful. Due to this fact, Transylvito is a Level 4 city. However, its garrison zone is described as being "bigger and taller than some Level Fives, with their walls and all."2009 This suggests that Transylvito is very large indeed.

Transylvito's defenses are composed mainly of highly defended towers, built with air battles in mind. The ornamental outer wall was never intended to be highly defensive, and with good reason: there hasn't been a serious ground assault on Transylvito in thousands of turns.

The architecture of Transylvito is described as being rather ominous, fitting with the mafia/vampire theme of the side.

<blockquote>"Transylvito was a city that looked like you didn't want to mess with it... The black walls, marble columns and iron towers reached right up out of the black-streaked granite of the imposing Mount Mofo. Everywhere you looked, there was something sharp, something hard, something that could croak you."</blockquote>

City Zones
The city of Transylvito is formed of at least three Zones: Outer Walls, Airspace, and Garrison. Due to the presence of towers for air defense2009 it is likely that there are one or more Tower areas as well, perhaps as part of the Garrison, Outer Walls, or both.

Transylvito Combat
Transylvito's only observed method of combat consisted of using the weak, massable Doombats at the forefront of any assault, with Warlords providing special bonuses that dramatically increase the Doombats' fighting power.

Each Warlord 'packs' bats that receive their Leadership bonuses. Chief Warlord Caesar Borgata provides an additional effect to all bats in his current hex, as well as a high-level Leadership bonus to bats under his command. Transylvito formations are relatively unique in Erfworld, as most of them are well over the eight-unit stack bonus. (Sometimes more than 100 bats in the same stack) Transylvito Warlords offer greater bonuses to Doombats than the eight-unit stack bonus do. (Though they receive the eight-unit bonus anyway)

Before the fight with Stanley the Tool, Vinny explained that doombats led by a Warlord are as strong as basic infantry thanks to the Warlord's Leadership bonus. With the Chief Warlord in the same hex, the doombats gain half of that Leadership bonus as well, so are as strong as advanced infantry. The doombats in the Stack of the Chief Warlord, gaining his full bonus, are equivalent to heavy Units.

Transylvito units have also been observed dance fighting with lyrics and costumes resembling characters from the musical West Side Story. In TBFGK_99:10, Vinny imagines a battle with Vampires and Archons dancefighting in ballroom style pairs against Stanley's dwagons. The proposed strategy never occurred because Charlie's price was too high.

The capital city of Transylvito is defended mainly against airspace attack, using Dolls, Molls, and Men, probably on the ground, and Guard Goyles of both the Goyle and Skank variety, aside from the Warlords and Casters with their Doombats. It is (as of yet) unknown how combat in Transylvito airspace would progress.

Conflict With Carpudlians
Transylvito has an ongoing turf war with the Carpudlians. The primary battleground is the city of Carport, which is regularly taken by Transylvito, and then sacked, unless the Carpudlians pay a ransom, in which case the Transylvitans leave it, relatively unharmed. In this way, they have a sort of protection racket with the Carpudlians. The Carpudlian capital of Carpool is considered too expensive a prospect for conquering.

Real World References
What follows is a list of prices and values that have been mentioned in the comic, ordered by value:

* The Spell to summon Parson cost a base of 350,000 for the Scroll itself and an additional but optional 150,000 for the casting and support plan, a total of 500,0001 Shmuckers. Stanley considered this an outrageous sum, and the larger figure was literally Gobwin Knob's entire treasury1 at the start of the Battle for Gobwin Knob. Coincidentally, Sizemore speculates that the Mathamancy Bracer would fetch a half-million Shmuckers from a mathamancy-reliant overlord. 1

* Charlie tried to charge Don King 250,000 per turn to ally himself with Transylvito in order to ambush Stanley on his way to Faq.1 The price was exorbitantly high, and designed to make Don King reluctant to pay.

* Caesar Borgata quoted Don King claiming that 250,000 shmuckers was the extra money that would be needed for Transylvito to take Carpool from the Carpudlians. 2009

* The expense of designating Prince Tramennis as Jetstone's heir is estimated at around 165,000 (or slightly less), as calculated based on Charlie's offer of 5,000 per Decrypted Archon destroyed and a bonus of 25,000 for capturing one and returning it to him alive.

* Dewy Tulips claimed that the Carpudlians paid about 40,000 Shmuckers to ransom the city of Carport to avoid it being sacked. 2009

* Sacking the Level 3 City of Kona earned Faq almost 20,000 Shmuckers.2009

* The upper limit of the purse of a level 10 Warlord or Caster is 10,000. Since few units achieve this level or higher, this is roughly the upper limit that one unit could have (outside of gems).

* Jillian argues that 2,500 Shmuckers for Charlie's Thinkagram1 service is far from a "nominal" fee as advertised by one of the Archons. Webinar mentions that the fee is "for two-way". A presumably one-way Thinkagram to Ansom cost her 1700 Shmuckers, which was almost her entire purse.1

* Parson's upkeep is "over 1,000 Shmuckers per turn"1. Stanley seems to regard this as annoyingly expensive, but not utterly outrageous.

* The Upkeep of the weakest Archons are 200 Shmuckers per turn. The most powerful Archons can cost close to 500 Shmuckers per turn. Since Charlie has over 600 Archons, his Archon fleet has a total upkeep cost is somewhere between 120,000 Shmuckers to 300,000 Shmuckers per turn.
Proposed Canon
Moneymancy is a magic that has uses outside of the art of an individual moneymancer. Sides use moneymancy to convert shmuckers into units and construction. It may also be involved in the automatic transfer of funds when sides make deals with one another. As we have not seen evidence that treasuries are tangible, existing things, moneymancy may simply be involved in the moving of funds to and from the abstract pocket in which the treasury exists.

Information
Moneymancy is one of the three disciplines of the Magic class Clevermancy; it is aligned with the axis of Numbers.1

Abilities
* Natural Allies can use moneymancy to convert shmuckers directly to units6051503. This is likely important because units probably have no cost to create otherwise. Instead of Shmuckers, they take time. Moneymancy seems to circumvent the time needed via a direct infusion of Shmuckers.
* Moneymancers are able to convert shmuckers into gems. This is significant as gems are able to be converted directly into shmuckers by a caster, warlord, or ruler, but not the other way around. This would allow a side to squirrel away funds so that they were available if needed, but not in the treasury in case of capture.
* Construction of buildings, up to and including cities like Gobwin Knob, can be accomplished through moneymancy.

Known Moneymancers
Benjamin, Don King's friend and adviser.
{{Fanon
Tonald Drump is a well known Moneymancer, a Master level caster of great skill.

Speculation
* Moneymancy may be able to predict the monetary cost of an action. Benjamin has been quoted as saying that exterminating a Transylvitian enemy, the Carpudlians, would be too expensive.
A Side is a group of characters and Units involved in the conflict in Erfworld and is led by a single Ruler, which is a King or Queen if the Unit is Royal, or an Overlord if not. The Side includes all Units, cities, and terrain under the leadership of that Ruler.
There is a distinction between capital sides and other sides1.
Capital sides (as the name implies) have capitals and are governed by a Ruler. A capital side can also own cities other than the capital.
Other sides
Non-capital sides (also referred to as natural allies) have no capital, no cities, no royals.1 They do, however, have their own treasuries and can form long semi-permanent alliances. If there is a way for Natural Allies to become a Capital Side, it has not been stated in the comic.
* Witches
** Sand Witches (natural allies to Dagwood)
** Man Witches (natural allies to Dagwood)

Barbarians
It does not seem that Barbarians are a single side; rather, "Barbarian" is a catch all term used to describe Units without a side or neutral cities without a Ruler. If Rulers or their Heirs lose their capital they become Barbarians. All of the permanent inhabitants of the Magic Kingdom are Barbarian Casters.

Barbarians have to rely on either farming, hunting, or mercenary work to pay upkeep of their Units. They can form alliances with capital sides.
Only four of the Transylvitian warlords were actually headed back to the capital: Caesar, Vinny, Dewy Tulips and Leather Valese. A few hexes west of the pass, the rest of the gap fight survivors split off on other orders. Some had cities to manage, two were headed southwest to take back Carport from the Carpudlians.

"That is a turf fight we are never gonna settle. Until Don King decides to go fer Carpool itself," said Leather, wagging his finger at the air and looking to Caesar for affirmation.

Caesar flew along, stone-faced, staring at the alpine meadow ahead. "Bring it up with him," Caesar challenged. "And I'll tell you what he'll say. 'Benjamin tells me it's too expensive.'" His airy-voiced impression of their sovereign was just barely on the respectful side. "Don King'll tell ya to go out and bring him back a quarter million Shmuckers from someplace and you can lead the fight yourself. Me, I've stopped asking."

They entered the meadow hex. Clear.

"We do make a lotta money off Carport," said Dewy. She was flying beside Caesar, sticking very close to him except for occasional one-hex scouting hops. These had very little tactical use to the group, but they meant that Caesar got to watch her wiggle her butt, so they had tactical value to Dewy. "What'd they pay us to pull out and not sack it last time? Forty grand? Easy money. No risk." Transylvito had been taking Carport and sacking or ransoming it every dozen turns for as long as most of them had been alive.

Vinny was of the opinion that "no risk" was optimistic. One of these days, Carpool was gonna load up that city with something nasty and veiled, and bite their faces off. But he kept his mouth shut. It was just good to listen to home politics again.

They flew in a single stack. No need to discuss why. Their guest would have to break stack before breaking alliance if she wanted to bolt, and that would at least give them warning.

Not that she was showing any signs of it. She'd spoken three words, of one syllable each, during the entire trip so far. Her eyes and cheeks had gone sunken, hollow. Too deep inside her own head to be looking for an opportunity to break free.

Vinny hoped.

Commander I. Heartly Noah:

Proposed Canon
Chocula is a Level Two Transylvito city a short distance from Blackula. Caesar states that Chocula is five turns flight from the Transylvito capital.

See the Battle of Chocula for details on the fighting that took place there.

Architecture and Appearance
The wall enclosing the city is a speckled brown sandstone. The buildings within the city are composed of clay brick and timber with a thatch roof overhead. As a level two city, Chocula had a modest garrison with a tower and courtyard.

Battle to Retake Chocula
Carpool realized that with Transylvito stuck in a growing war, they did not have the resources to push them around anymore. Vinny had worried earlier that Carpool would eventually put something nasty into the city and take Transylvito by surprise when they came to reconquer it.

This is exactly what they did in Carport about 40 turns after TBfGK, when they attacked the city by water and then followed that with a massive air defense buildup of archers, spell defenses and air heads. The Transylvito flying units attacked and lost two warlords. Carpool decided to try the same tactic in Chocula. They built up a significant force of archers and the Carpool Shockmancer spelled up the tower to make sure any flying unit that attacked would be croaked.

Transylvito lacked sufficient resources for an attack in force on Chocula, but Don King ordered it to be retaken anyway. Caesar Borgata was sent with Broadway Tony and a small force of bats, birds, two Battle Bears, and some goyles. Caesar suspected the [[Carpudlian]s] had a nasty trap waitng for them like they did in Carport. He broke with the usual Transylvito battle plan of attacking by air and instead focused on what little ground siege he had and used the rest of his air forces to provide him cover while he attacked the gates. With Caesar's strategy of avoiding an attack on the tower and the sacrifice of Broadway Tony and most of their force, Transylvito was narrowly able to retake the city. Caesar was badly wounded in the attack but he was able to take 200 prisoners.

Real World References
Count Chocula was the first in a series of monster-themed cereals released by General Mills, beginning in 1971. However, the "snap! crackle! pop!" sound it made as it burnt are characteristic of Kellogg's Rice Crispies. Count Chocula is a pun on the vampire Count Dracula.
The Kingdom of Faq is a Capital Side in Erfworld. It was sacked by Stanley, but has been rebuilt by Queen Jillian using funds provided by Transylvito.2009 It is now a member of the Royal Crown Coalition II. Count Vinny Doombats is the liaison between Faq and Transylvito; he has since become Jillian's lover. Jillian has formed a secret alliance with Charlie who helped arrange for the Western Giants to become Faq's Natural Allies. Since the fall of Unaroyal, Don King has been sending substantial resources to Faq at the cost of his own Kingdom, leaving its own borders vulnerable and repeatedly invaded against the objections of his Chief Warlord Caesar Borgata.

Faq consists of a Capital of the same name with two subordinate cities. It also has significant natural resources available as farms and mines. Faq's cities can produce Royals, Noble Warlords, Knights, Infantry, Gwiffons and Megalogwiffs. The rate at which new units are being produced has been substantially increased by Vanna.

Faq is surrounded with mountains on all sides.1 Some tunnels pass through these mountains. Much of the mountain terrain is of the "Impassable Mountain" variety which provides a small number of choke points; this makes it much easier to defend Faq against a numerically superior army. There is at least one pass through the mountains, called the Faq Gap. A river flows through the Kingdom of Faq.
City of Faq
:Main Article: City of Faq

From :
:"It was circular, sharp, and shining.

:The outer "walls" were useless against siege, even worse than Transylvito's. They consisted of a ring of stone teeth with a reflective coating of tin, inward-curving towers that terminated in spoon-like roosts for gwiffons and megalogwiffs. There was no gate. Vinny simply flew between these pillars and entered the city. A horn somewhere announced him as an arriving allied unit.

:The garrison was a set of six more teeth, much taller, fortified with solid walls that joined them like webbing. Three of these walls had gated archways, adorned with Gothic patterns in wrought iron and stone.

:At the center of the garrison rose a tower constructed with all the ferocity of Jillian's imagination. It was shaped something like a white marble palm tree. The trunk was a twist of six massive columns, tapering slightly as they reached straight upward. The top of the tower was a miniature fortress, a bristle of glass and hard spikes, with ledges and platforms where many dozens of flyers could land, or hundreds of defenders could lurk."

History
The Peaceful Kingdom
King Banhammer sought a peaceful, non-violent existence for his Kingdom, and so avoided combat that put his nation at risk. He relied heavily on the use of magic and had multiple Casters, including a Predictamancer (Marie Lavraie)1, a Croakamancer (Wanda Firebaugh), and a Foolamancer (Jack Snipe)1.

When enemy units appeared nearby (usually passing through his territory unaware a nation existed there), Marie Lavraie was able to lay out the route the force would follow, allowing Jack to Veil one City at a time; thus, he managed to keep the location of Faq hidden until Wanda revealed the existence of Faq to Stanley.
When King Banhammer was informed by Marie Lavraie that Faq would someday fall, his response was to pop his heir, Princess Jillian. Jillian was popped sometime before 625 BW.

Mercenary Work
Although the kingdom had mines and farms, King Banhammer found it necessary to send its units to do mercenary work, in order to supplement the treasury.1 Jillian assumed command over these mercenaries after she had problems with King Banhammer. Her employment as a mercenary provided her with combat experience that helped her reach a relatively high level.

Fall of Faq
Marie Lavraie gave Wanda a second Prediction: that she would one day attune to an Arkentool. This would lead her to desperate measures in finding her destiny. She eventually learned of Stanley the Plaid, a Warlord in the service of King Saline IV at the time, who had attuned to the Arkenhammer. Thinking to take this Arkentool from him, she conspired with Stanley to bring him to Faq. Her intent was to see Stanley die in the attack on her side. Her plan failed because Stanley unexpectedly acquired a large number of Dwagons during his journey from Gobwin Knob to Faq. Because he had a far larger force than he'd originally planned to use, Stanley succeeded in destroying and pillaging Faq, ending the side. Wanda and Jack survived this disaster by agreeing to serve under Stanley, while Marie Lavraie became a Barbarian caster in the Magic Kingdom. At the time of Stanley's attack, Jillian and at least some of her mercenaries were in the field. Faq's fall turned Jillian and the troops with her into a Barbarian force. Jillian's troops were later killed in battle with Witches and Jillian remains the only known former Faq Unit that is not a caster.

The New Kingdom
The restored Kingdom of Faq has been profoundly influenced by each of the three main survivors on the Royal Side of the Battle of Gobwin Knob: Jillian, Charlie, and Vinny. Without Vinny's efforts to encourage cooperation between Jillian and Don King, it is unlikely that Transylvito would have provided the resources needed to first rebuild Faq and than rapidly expand its forces. Without the advice and financial support provided to Jillian by both Charlie and Transylvito, Faq could not have developed as it has.
Between the three of them, these architects of Faq have a far better understanding of the personalities and abilities of the leaders of Gobwin Knob than anyone else on the Royal side. No one besides Charlie even begins to understand what Parson is capable of, and no one has the length of experience with both Wanda and Jack that Jillian has.
As the magnitude of the threat posed by Gobwin Knob grows ever more apparent, the question of how Gobwin Knob can be stopped will be asked with greater and greater frequency. Natural Signamancy suggests that the answer will be found in Faq.

War in Jetstone
When a Gobwin Knob army led by Wanda and Ansom invades Jetstone in 75 AW, Jillian leads a Faqian force in Jetstone's defense. According to Ossomer, LIAB 10 Jillian's force includes:

* 26 Gwiffons
* 6 Megalogwiffs (on LIAB 24, however, it appears that there are at least 10 Megalogwiffs, suggesting that Ossomer might have been wrong, or that Jillian upgraded at least four (if that's possible))
* 1 Chief Warlord Duncan Scone
* 1 Warlord Bobtail
* 1 Warlord Belzon
* 1 Warlord DeTrop
* 1 Caster Vanna

Jillian's forces are significantly less powerful than Wanda's flying force of Dwagons and Archons. Instead of entering into a direct conflict with Wanda, Jillian changed the tactical situation in Jetstone's favor by having Vanna (while linked to Charlie), end Gobwin Knob's turn before Wanda could take advantage of her superior strength and position. Jillian then captured Ansom, (which made it easier for Jetstone to destroy Gobwin Knob's ground troops), before leaving to attack the cities held by Gobwin Knob which lay between Jetstone and Faq. She sacked Progrock, and thereby gained 40,000 Shmuckers, after capturing Stanley's living units and croaking Wanda's decrypted.

Livery
Under Banhammer, the livery of Faq was green, Far Eastern styled clothing.

Under Jillian, the livery is now silver and white.

Natural Allies
Charlie gave Jillian the idea of making a deal between Faq and the Western Giants, who were allied with Jitterati. During Jillian's attack on Valdez, under the cover of a Parley, the Giants switched sides to Faq.

Given their willingness to change sides, Jillian may want to be careful, as this could cause problems later, since Parson or Charlie could offer them a new contract.

Western Giants are a perfect natural ally for Faq, as though they are heavies, they are mountain-capable, and may be able to cross through the gap on their own.

Speculation
Faq currently produces the same types of units which it formerly produced under King Banhammer. However, if Stanley rather than Jillian had rebuilt Faq, it would probably have produced the same units which were produced by Gobwin Knob. If Caesar had rebuilt Faq, it would probably have produced the same units as Transylvito.

Because Faq's terrain makes it well suited for defense, it may be that Don envisions Faq becoming a defensive fortress where he or his Royal Heir can survive, even if Stanley destroys Transylvito.
Jillian and Don are still unaware that Stanley the Tool has a growing army of fliers that includes Dwagons and Archons that could threaten Transylvito. But since Stanley has attacked Transylvito in the past, Don King may believe he will attack again soon. If he decides that Transylvito is about to fall to Stanley, Don could conceivably adopt Stanley's escape plan, and send his Heir, with the remaining flying Vampires, Goyles, and Doombats to Faq. Once there, they would become Mercenaries, whom Jillian could hire.

Faqian Philosophy
Under King Banhammer, Faq was devoted to the study of philosophy. 1
There may have been a correlation between the names of the towns and the style of philosophy practiced there. Philosophers in the capital sought to answer Frequently Asked Questions. Philosophers in Kibo were very critical of other philosopher's reasoning, deriding it as Knowledge In, Boop Out. Philosophers in Otoh, On The Other Hand, saw value on the arguments of both Faq and Kibo.

In the future, Faqian philosophy may develop in directions pleasing to Queen Jillian. For example, both the institution of Royalty and the Arkentools were created by the Titans. This suggests they may both have a role to play in the Titan's Plan. According to this line of reasoning, Stanley's great crime is to attempt to use one aspect of the Titan's Plan, the Arkentools, to destroy another aspect, Royalty. The rejection of the Arkentools by the members of the Royal Crown Coalition is equally objectionable. Jillian's efforts to combine the powers of Royalty and the Arkentools, by allying with Charlie, and possibly by attempting to persuade Wanda to return to Faq with the Arkenpliers, represents the true will of the Titans.

Natural Allies
Faq could be attacked by ground units through a system of Tunnels. They would benefit from a force of tunnel fighters. Two possible types of unit which could fill these roles are Marbits and Gobwins. Given the problems Stanley is having finding Gobwins, it's possible that Charlie has helped Jillian forge an alliance with the Gobwins. There has been no reference to such an arrangement as yet, however. Parson has noted an unusual number of Marbits in the absence of the Gobwins which may indicate that Charlie has employed Marbit's as his own Natural Allies and is using them to wipe out the randomly popping Gobwin tribes before Gobwin Knob can find and recruit them. Whether he would be doing that to help Faq or just to undermine Gobwin Knob is purely speculative.

The Royal Heir
Since 41 AW, the production capability of the City of Faq has been used to create a new Royal Heir. What might that Heir be like?

# Caster-Royal: New sides normally produce at least one new Caster instead of a Warlord, but Faq has not done so. And the Heir may be affected by the way in which Turnamancer Vanna is using her magic to accelerate the Heir's development. Can a Royal also be a Caster? If so, he might be a Healomancer, given that "Castor Oil" is a medicinal drug. Given Castor Oil's use as a laxative, Dirtamancer is also possible, and very useful given Faq's mountainous surroundings.
# Philosopher-Prince: Faq has a tradition of philosophy. Might Jillian's child be like her Father in this way?
# Warrior Princess: She's just like her Mom.
# Transylvito Princess: Vinny is Jillian's lover. Does that make him the Princess' father?

The Carpudlians are a capital side who are in an ongoing conflict with Transylvito. Like Jitterati, they have so far chosen to disregard the growing threat posed by Gobwin Knob in order to attack their traditional enemies in Transylvito. This may prove to be a fatal strategic blunder.

They are one of two known sides (the other being Transylvito) to use water based assaults. They used this tactic to re-take Carport. They also have significant investments in air forces, archers, and spell defenses.
King Slately of Jetstone and/or Don King of Transylvito may have warned them of Stanley and tried to persuade them to join the Royal Crown Coalition. Carpudlian is a reference to Liverpudlian, the term for denizens of Liverpool, England.

It is also likely a reference to the Carpathian mountains, a range which forms the boundary of Transylvania within Romania, and historically a notoriously troublesome region.
Sizemore's sandaled feet slapped along on the paving stones of a little walkway, shaded by aromatic pines. He had once laid down these stones himself, and he eyed them with some professional satisfaction as he went along. At the end of the pavement, he frowned at a spot where the squares were sinking into the softer ground. Drawing his index finger over the pathway's edge, he spent a little juice to fix it. Then he brushed the pine needles away, and continued on the dirt path that led into the Glade of the Hippiemancers.

There was a lot for Sizemore to do around here. The Florists always needed him in their gardens, always wanted his advice about soil, always smiled when he could visit.

This place, at least, was still a warm refuge.

Smiles and warm welcomes used to be standard almost everywhere he went in the Magic Kingdom. Dirtamancy was among the most rare and useful disciplines here. Everyone needed a wall built, a garden tilled, a well dug, a foundation excavated. There were no city sites; construction was a manual industry. Casters used Rands, a barter credit for exchanging goods and services, so as not to give Moneymancers all of the power. But though he usually took only the minimum Rands for his services that the other Caster would accept, he couldn't help becoming a filthy rich rock star here. Everyone knew him, or knew of him.

Until recently, everyone liked him, too.

Outside politics didn't usually matter much in the Magic Kingdom. All of the permanent residents were Barbarians. Most didn't give a newt turd about warlord matters, unless it might lead to some work. But attunement of two Arkentools on the same side had caught the notice of quite a few Casters. And what Lady Firebaugh was doing with hers was causing real alarm.

The theoretical consensus was that she was extending Croakamancy to the Life axis. Sizemore was inclined to agree, but after getting roughed up by Stagemancers in a few discussions, he had stopped participating in the debate. He didn't need fingers pointing at him. And he was tired of answering for Lady Firebaugh, who had not been to the Magic Kingdom since she claimed the Arkenpliers.

Nobody here liked what was going on. Nobody liked the unchecked power and growth of Gobwin Knob, and the kinds of things Lord Ansom was saying out there were not helping matters. Holy quests, one world side... These things were getting repeated and distorted, and Sizemore didn't know half of what was going on or being said.

He only knew that he was scowled at more and more, every time he returned here. He knew there were places he was unwelcome. He would not live forever, whatever happened. He worried that these friendships he had lost would never be repaired. What could he do? He imagined being friendless and hated at the end of his life.

But as his thoughts reached their darkest, he stepped through the trees into warm sunlight. And over near the gazebo, the more powerful warmth of Janis' smile. He straightened his new jacket, and half ran toward her for a world-righting hug.
It's not like it's just air (weather?) or the ground (terrain type) or wildlife (non-unit animals) or anything. This is something that gets made by units, presumably. It has existed in cities and in the field. Characters have made note of its absence. It cooks food - when most food comes pre-prepared. Can anyone make a fire? What benefits does it offer? What cost? Do you not heal fully in the field without one? If in the mountains without one, do you lose hits to the cold? We know a city just poofs 5 levels for Shmuckers, but we don't know how fires work. ==Information==
Rhyme-o-mancy is one of the three disciplines of the Magic class Stagemancy; it is aligned with the axis of Numbers.1

*Tramennis has stated a relationship between Rhyme-o-mancy and music, which might imply a link to dance fighting.

Abilities
*As yet unknown.

Known Rhyme-o-mancers
As of yet, no known Rhyme-o-mancer has been introduced.

Speculation
We have so far seen one apparent example of direct Rhyme-o-mancy, a short but complex poem on the subject of Transylvito, Don King, and Queen Jillian.2010 It describes the side's current situation, and casts the Don's recent actions negatively. But the final lines seem to indicate that the poem is actually a spell: "Perchance he enchants, he incants, he cancels the antsy with a rant in Rhyme-o-mancy." Based on that wording, we may speculate that this spell is intended to allay the fears of the Don's followers. If it "cancels the antsy" it may improve loyalty and morale, or at least stop negative gossip.

The poem is accompanied by a picture of Benjamin in the court of Transylvito, standing somewhat apart from the Don and his warlords. Benjamin is most likely a Moneymancer, who has the ability to cast outside his discipline. It should be noted that Benjamin Franklin, who he physically resembles, was a noted polymath. His Rhyme-o-mancy abilities may partly explain why Transylvitian forces are generally good at dance fighting.

Another possible example of Rhyme-o-mancy may be the rhyming that troops do during dance fighting. Dance fighting may be some form of Natural Stagemancy.

There are two other times in the comic where rhyming takes place, although these neither of these has obvious magical effects. The first example occurs the night before the final battle for Gobwin Knob, when the troops in the courtyard sing a song insulting Jetstone and Transylvito.1 Its only effect seems to be angering Prince Ansom and many other coalition members.

The second time is when Wanda attacks Ansom when he is alone on top of the wall. 1 She seems to be speaking mostly to herself-- a personal call to arms, perhaps-- but it may also be a form of intimidation, as the last line finishes just as she attacks Ansom.

*If dance-fighting and music ARE related, then possible applications could be allowing Warlords to be popped/promoted with dance-fighting as an ability, making magic items that grant it, leading a dance fight themselves (possibly for a whole army or side while under a Thinkamancy link?). They might also be able to "Rock" as Stanley called it, though that would probably show up at higher levels of caster.

* can detect veiled units such as archons (LIAB Text 6)
*Displacement: The caster makes a stack invisible, and creates a holographic projection of that stack some distance away. The image behaves as the stack, and reveals the stack just as it is, with no changes, so enemies can see the strength and composition, as well as the action, of the stack, but are misled as to its location.2

*Baffle: The stack(s) are visually obscured, but may still be targeted. It's unclear how much of a defense bonus this gives, but would make it difficult or impossible to target individual units.2
Known Foolamancers
Jack Snipe: in service to Gobwin Knob and previously Faq. <br>

Speculation
It is suggested that chances to see through a veil are determined by the number of units veiled multiplied by the number of warlords looking. In Page 1071 there are 11 warlords looking for "30 or so" units giving around 300 chances. A direct multiplication would give 330 chances for that particular stack to find 30 veiled units.

Another explanation for "330 chances" is that each warlord rolls once against each veiled unit that it might see. If the roll is a success, that warlord sees that unit. The chances of winning that roll would therefore still be unknown.
