Previous TBFGK 34 Next TBFGK 36 [edit]

Panel 1

It is a bright night. The top of the Tower of Efdup, from the observation deck to the peak can be seen in front of the heavy, dark, foreboding clouds, but the moon is full, seen through a break.[edit]

Narrator: Parson's New Quarters.

Parson Gotti: So this artifact works on--

Sizemore Rockwell: Item. Magic item.

Parson Gotti: Magic item. Right, because it was created by mortals.

Sizemore Rockwell: Correct.
[edit]

Panel 2

Parson is seen sitting in front of a grey wall made orange by reflected firelight. He seems comfortable here, and the glow of the walls adds to the hominess of the scene.[edit]

Parson Gotti: This item works on "Eyemancy." Which covers "Lookamancy", "Thinkamancy", and "Foolamancy."

And it uses all three of those.

Sizemore Rockwell: Correct!
[edit]

Panel 3

Sizemore is sitting on a chair while Parson is on the edge of his bed. A fireplace dominates one wall, giving off a friendly orange glow that reflects off of every surface. A picture of a Titan adorns one wall along with a dresser, table, and chest. The pelt of a teddy bear lies on the floor in front of the fireplace.[edit]

Sizemore Rockwell: I can't believe you're really interested in this stuff!

We've never had a warlord who cared for anything but troops and command.
[edit]

Panel 4

Sizemore and Parson are shown from below, against a warm, orange background.[edit]

Parson Gotti: I'm gonna need a crash course in all of that, too.

Sizemore Rockwell: Oh? I'd have thought "all of that" would be second nature to you, being the Perfect Warlord and everything.
[edit]

Panel 5

Parson is shown from slightly above, with the background showing the large stone blocks that make up the floor. He looks unsure of himself.[edit]

Parson Gotti: I don't think I am, Sizemore.

I think this was all a colossal boop-up.
[edit]

Panel 6

Sizemore is shown in a close-up, isomorphic perspective. His expression is crestfallen. An unlit candle on a skull base can be seen on the table behind him.[edit]

Sizemore Rockwell: Oh.

I see.

Well, I suppose Lady Firebaugh did her best. But doomed is doomed.
[edit]

Panel 7

Reflected firelight casts shadows on Parson's face. His demeanor is now more confident. The background is a warm orange.[edit]

Parson Gotti: No, don't take it like that.

I don't mean, "I'm gonna boop-up and we're all gonna croak."

I plan to win this battle.

Somehow.
[edit]

Panel 8

A wide view of the room shows Parson from the front and Sizemore from the rear. The fireplace on the left is shaped like a beast, perhaps a stylized dwagon. On the wall behind Parson is a mounted gwiffon head, in a menacing gaping mouth attack pose. Sizemore's chair has an eye and a few spikes that suggests that it, too, may be created from a defeated creature.[edit]

Parson Gotti: But keep in mind: assuming all of this is real, I'm from a different universe.

I need to be taught things you think everyone knows: the magic system, the combat system, the physics...

Everything. I asked you about magic because that seems to be your specialty.

But I need help with some of the most basic stuff you can imagine.
[edit]

Panel 9

A smiling Sizemore is backdropped by the warm, orange glow of Parson's firelit quarters.[edit]

Sizemore: Oh!

Okay then, Warlord.

I dig what you're saying.

So what's first?
[edit]

Panel 10

Parson stands up, looking a little embarrassed and holding one hand to his gut.[edit]

Parson Gotti: Well right now the most pressing thing I need to know is...

Extremely basic.

Biological.

Sizemore Rockwell: Ah, my other specialty.
[edit]

Panel 11

Part of the back of Parson's head covers the right of the panel. Sizemore dominates the center-left, holding a vase with a lid. An urn can be seen on the dresser behind and to the left of Sizemore.[edit]

Sizemore Rockwell: This...

is called a "chamber pot."

Parson Gotti: Magic item?
[edit]

Panel 12

It is a bright night. The top of the Tower of Efdup, from the observation deck to the peak can be seen in front of the heavy, dark, foreboding clouds, but the moon is full, seen through a break.

A number of dwagons perch on the tower, or fly through the night sky; one is silhouetted against the moon.
[edit]

Sizemore Rockwell: You wish.

Parson Gotti: Boop.

Sizemore Rockwell: Exactly![1]
[edit]

[edit] Notes

  1. ^ Sizemore seems to know exactly what Parson meant to say. Then again, it was fairly obvious from the context of the conversation.
