Panels: 11
Previous TBFGK 3 Next TBFGK 5 [edit]

Panel 1

The green dwagon takes off again, as Wanda walks away from it and Bogroll.[edit]

Bogroll[1]: Good morning, Lady Firebaugh!

Wanda Firebaugh: Henchman Bogroll.
[edit]

Panel 2

Wanda walks a distance across the courtyard in Gobwin Knob's fortress, then stops.[edit]
Sound: WALK WALK WALK BALK [edit]

Panel 3

Wanda turns, still stopped in mid-step, to address Bogroll.[edit]

Wanda Firebaugh: Bogroll?

Bogroll: Yes, m'lady?

Wanda Firebaugh: Why are you standing in the middle of the courtyard, holding a parasol painted like a bullseye?
[edit]

Panel 4

A close-up of Bogroll's face, shadowed by the parasol he carries. He is preparing to explain something, and the effort this takes has screwed his expression slightly.[edit]

Bogroll: It's a peculiar story, m'lady. You see--

Wanda Firebaugh: Mm, does it involve the other henchmen?

Bogroll: Yes...

Wanda Firebaugh: Then save it. I have to meet with Lord Stanley.
[edit]

Panel 5

Wanda continues her walk towards the Tower of Efdup, leaving Bogroll standing in the courtyard holding his painted parasol.[edit]
Wanda Firebaugh: And also, I need to be as far away from you as possible right now. [edit]

Panel 6

Stanley the Plaid[2] sits at a desk carved to look like a grotesque face. He holds a large, brightly-colored photo-realistic hammer[3] that resembles a plastic toy. Atop the desk are a candle, several intact and crushed walnuts, and a few pigeons, one of which is perched atop a skull. There's a chair in front of the desk, shaped in the form of a dwagon's gaping mouth with protruding hippopotamus-like teeth. Through a bay window behind Stanley, the inner edges of the caldera of Gobwin Knob and a few dwagons can be seen in the distance.[edit]

Sound: NOCK NOCK

Wanda Firebaugh: Lord Stanley?

Pigeon: COO

Stanley the Plaid: Yo. C'min.
[edit]

Panel 7

Silhouetted against the daylight outside, Wanda enters Stanley's office in the Tower of Efdup.[edit]

Wanda Firebaugh: Reporting as ordered, Lord.

Sound: CRACK!

Stanley the Plaid: Yeah, c'min Wanda. Have a seat...
[edit]

Panel 8

Wanda sits across from Stanley at his desk in his office, looking bewildered at the pigeons and walnuts.[edit]

Wanda Firebaugh: You're using the Arkenhammer to crack walnuts?

Stanley the Plaid: Yeah.

Wanda Firebaugh: But it's divine. A tool of the Titans.

Stanley the Plaid: Divine or not, it was handy.

Sometimes you need to tame a dwagon. Sometimes you just need to bust a nut.[4]
[edit]

Panel 9

Wanda and Stanley continue to discuss the Arkenhammer across Stanley's desk.[edit]

Stanley the Plaid: Plus, I made a discovery.

Wanda Firebaugh: Oh?

Stanley the Plaid: About every fourth or fifth nut I crack with it? Turns into a pigeon.

Watch.
[edit]

Panel 10

The Arkenhammer is swung down onto a walnut.[edit]
Sound: WHUFF CRACK! [edit]

Panel 11

Stanley and Wanda stare at the cracked nut in silence for a moment. No pigeon materializes.[edit]
(There is no text in this panel.) [edit]

Notes

$^  To "bust a nut" is a colloquialism in the U.S. (possibly elsewhere) and is a euphamism for masturbation. The phrase was common enough to be used in a 1990s ad by snack company Corn Nuts. [5]
