Panel 1

Wanda and Stanley resume their conversation.[edit]

Stanley the Plaid: That would have been a good time for it to work.

Wanda Firebaugh: Lord can we PLEASE discuss strategy?
[edit]

Panel 2

Stanley sweeps the walnut shells (and the possibly-almost-a-pigeon walnut ) off his desk with one hand. The Arkenhammer is on the table-top.[edit]

Stanley the Plaid: Right.

Sound: SWEEP

Walnut: COO!!
[edit]

Panel 3

Closeup from below of Stanley, sitting at his desk with hands together in front of his chin.[edit]

Stanley the Plaid: The situation is grim.

Wanda Firebaugh: Yes, Lord.

Stanley the Plaid: We need a new warlord.

Wanda Firebaugh: Yes.

Stanley the Plaid: Who should we tap?

Wanda Firebaugh: No-one, Lord.
[edit]

Panel 4

Closeup of Wanda, who has an intent expression on her face.[edit]

Stanley the Plaid: No-one?

Wanda Firebaugh: Have you looked at our composition, Lord Stanley? There are fewer than 200 living men among our forces.

Stanley the Plaid: So? Pick the most handsome and dashing one left and make him a Warlord.

Wanda Firebaugh: No, Lord.
[edit]

Panel 5

The conversation continues. Stanley's expression is one of annoyed confusion.[edit]

Stanley the Plaid: Are you refusing an order, officer?

Wanda Firebaugh: I'm allowed. I'm convinced it will lead to your destruction.

Stanley the Plaid: How so?
[edit]

Panel 6

Wanda replies, describing the urgency of the situation.[edit]

Wanda Firebaugh: Since you began questing for the other Arkentools, we have not won a battle. We once held 11 cities. Now, we have only the capital.

Every warlord you have appointed has fallen in battle. And it is all due to how you are choosing them, my Lord.
[edit]

Panel 7

Stanley looks somewhat less angry than before, but still exasperated and impatient.[edit]

Stanley the Plaid: Oh fer--

Is this about strategy still?

Wanda Firebaugh: Yes. I won't advance another pretty boy to warlord, just so he can lose the final battle for Gobwin Knob.
[edit]

Panel 8

Stanley is sitting in his chair with a surprised expression. A pigeon can be seen perching on the back of the chair.[edit]

Stanley the Plaid: It's really that bad?

Wanda Firebaugh: Yes. Our next battle will be here. It will probably be the end of us, no matter what we do. Our only hope at this point is a military genius.

Stanley the Plaid: Who do you have in mind?

Wanda Firebaugh: No-one, Lord. We have no geniuses on our side.
[edit]

Panel 9

We see a wide view of Stanley's office, including a large fire pit and a coiled serpent hanging from the ceiling.[edit]

Stanley the Plaid: Then why bring it up?

Wanda Firebaugh: We can acquire one. I've been to the Magic Kingdom.[1]

The Findamancers[2] and Predictamancers[3] have forged a spell together. With it, one can summon the Perfect Warlord.[4]

Stanley the Plaid: Summon? From where?

Wanda Firebaugh: Anywhere in all existence. It is a very powerful spell.
[edit]

Panel 10

Closeup of Stanley, pondering Wanda's proposal.[edit]

Stanley the Plaid: Huh.

What do they want for it?

Wanda Firebaugh: 500,000 shmuckers.
