[edit] Great Thinkers

Okay, not sure who everyone is, but the ones I think I recognize are... Obi-Wan Kenobi, Carl Sagan, maybe Hans Gruber?, dunno, Psycho Mantis, the ear of Spock, Martin Luther King Jr, dunno and Zelda. Any better guesses? - No one in particular

The rightmost guy kind of reminds me of That Man from Excel Saga.

I cobbled this from other people's posts in the forum discussions: - From "Reactions" thread LIAB Text 38 (this panel) - From this post in "Everything Else Erfworld."

The information below is best guess, and not necessarily correct until confirmed by the author/artist.

Upper-left is Carl Sagan (In Erfworld, he is first shown here in last panel along with Spock in 1st panel)

Top row: unk girl, Aristotle, and a guess at Darren Brown

Middle is Spock, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and Psycho Mantis from the game Metal Gear Solid

Bottom two are another unknown girl (possibly Jean Grey) and Princess Zelda as she appears in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (headpiece is a dead ringer, distinguishes her from Galadrial as played by Cate Blanchette in Lord of the Rings) --Wayne 06:48, 9 January 2011 (UTC)

[edit] Elven Brand Recognition?

Random speculation here: Zelda is an Eager Elf, to go along with the males who all look like Link. -Noip

[edit] PGLH stands for...

Wouldn't it be more likely that PGLH stands for "Parson Gotti, Lord Hamster"...?

Yes, that's what it actually stands for in-story. I'm just saying that it could also be a reference to the text-adventure magic word. There are... ridiculous amounts of references and shout-outs in Erfworld. Some are fairly obvious, like the Knights In Stanley's Service looking like the band KISS, while others are more subtle. PLGH might be one of the subtle ones. -- No one in particular 23:31, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
I'd agree, but it's PGLH, not PLGH. Saying that it's still a reference to "plugh" is more than subtle but a bit of a stretch. --GRuban 13:28, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
Ah, yep, you're right. I was just reading it too fast, and getting the letters a little mixed up.My bad. -- No one in particular 14:06, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
