Separating articles and/or article content into the (very much necessary) categories of canon, proposed canon, and speculation is going to be a chore. Marking them with three distinctive text colours would probably be a dumb idea. --[[Special:Contributions/130.232.134.69|130.232.134.69]] 13:45, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

:Thank you very much. My next project involves changing the Community Portal and making a new portal for things like wiki matainece and the Improvment Drive. Sounds pretty boring, I know. But it's what I think the wiki needs most. We have very few articles that are good enough quality to be featured. [[User:Miment|Miment]] 23:53, 1 November 2009 (UTC)

Should we replace links that go to Giantitp with links to erfworld.com? Or will both be used? Or just one?--[[Special:Contributions/70.139.85.108|70.139.85.108]] 04:49, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

:: I'm going to revert your changes to the main page where you added edit links the the various sections. There's a reason why I didn't include them in the original main page. It helps keep the page clean and prevents people from editing those sections on a whim. you should use the above template, [[Template:mainpagecontrol|<nowiki>{{mainpagecontrol}}</nowiki>]], to edit the main page. I'd suggest: replace the links, but not as a particulary high priority.[[User:SteveMB|SteveMB]] 15:33, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

::: I think that making it easier for people is better.  The policy on the descriptive table of contents was to have <nowiki>[</nowiki>edit<nowiki>]</nowiki> links to allow people to change the pages.  Otherwise, people have to search downwards through the templates.  However, I do accept that making it a bit more effort to change the main page might be a good idea.

Well, if we had a larger user base on this wiki, it would be nice to do away with the edit links. But we don't. I agree with you now Raphfrk that the main page should be easy to edit. Edits on a whim are better than no edits at all. [[User:Miment|Miment]] 23:17, 1 January 2010 (UTC)

On May 19, a couple of attempts were made to add spam links to this page. If you detect such an attempt, do not try to fix the problem by editing the page. Go to the "History" page and use the "Undo" feature to remove the change. As a result of a couple of kind-hearted and well-meant repairs, two very important and ''LEGAL'' sections disappeared, probably because the repairs were made without noticing the spam deleted those sections. I have undone everything that occurred on the 19th, and restored it to the state of the previous day. --[[User:Kreistor|Kreistor]] 05:12, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

Is there any sort of CAPTCHA plugin one could add to the registration page?  I'm not familiar with modding wiki software so I'm not even sure something like it exists. --[[User:Sethram|Sethram]] 16:24, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

I was thinking that we should change the <nowiki>{{featuredarticle}} and {{improvementdrive}}</nowiki>. instead of putting good articles in the featured article, we should put ones that need edited. I say that because the featured article gets more eidts than the improvement drive. In place of the current improvement drive, we'll just make a list of tasks (like "categorize uncategorize pages") and put links to them as appropriate. Thoughts? Ok then, I've revised my plans and will impliment them. Where the featured Article goes, I'll put a list of maintainence tasks. I haven't a clue what I want to put in the current Improvement Drive section, but it's pretty clear we don't really have enough users to warrant one. :/ [[User:Miment|Miment]] 21:21, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

I'm going to revert your changes to the main page where you added edit links the the various sections. There's a reason why I didn't include them in the original main page. It helps keep the page clean and prevents people from editing those sections on a whim. you should use the above template, {{mainpagecontrol}}, to edit the main page. Miment 18:16, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
I think that making it easier for people is better. The policy on the descriptive table of contents was to have [edit] links to allow people to change the pages. Otherwise, people have to search downwards through the templates. However, I do accept that making it a bit more effort to change the main page might be a good idea.

Main Page version 2.1

I was thinking that we should change the {{featuredarticle}} and {{improvementdrive}}. instead of putting good articles in the featured article, we should put ones that need edited. I say that because the featured article gets more eidts than the improvement drive. In place of the current improvement drive, we'll just make a list of tasks (like "categorize uncategorize pages") and put links to them as appropriate. Thoughts? Miment 22:57, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
