[edit] Proposed Canon
The Battle of Warchalking is a combination of two smaller battles that were fought by the forces of Gobwin Knob under the direction of Chief Warlord Manpower the Temporary against a large force of Marbits supported by Unaroyal infantry. It is unclear whether Jetstone troops or other factions of Royal Crown Coalition fought alongside the Marbits.
Due to an extra gem left over from when the Titans created Minty Mountains the Marbit forces were able to muster an additional squad of Axemen.Erf-b1-p001
At a critical moment in the battle, the axemen breached the right flank of Gobwin Knobs Spidew troops, which left Manpower the Temporary exposed to Marbit crossbows and got him croaked.Erf-b1-p002 This caused Gobwin Knob to lose the battle.Erf-b1-p005
[edit] Speculation
Spidews are considered to be Heavy, Mountable units, whereas Marbits are small humanoid units with likely low stats, that fight better in tunnel situations. Because the counter-attack by Manpower the Temporary took place above ground, outside of the city,Erf-b1-p001 the Gobwin Knob forces likely had the tactical advantage over the marbits. Due to the extra squad of axemen (How many is a squad?), Manpower left himself open to ranged attack and was croaked. The death of a warlord signaled defeat for Gobwin knob, whose stacks would have lost significant leadership multipliers as well as the tactical ability to retreat. It is assumed that all of Manpower's forces were destroyed, because there was no living warlord to direct them to flee. Erf-b1-p044
